Mark your calendars for the 16th Social Business Day, taking place on 27–28 June 2026 at the Samajik Convention Centre, Zirabo, Dhaka!

In a world increasingly shaped by division, inequality, and conflict, this year’s theme, “Social Business: The Language of Peace in a Fractured World,” reflects on how economic systems can become tools for harmony rather than competition.

The gathering will be especially meaningful as it also celebrates 50 years of Grameen Bank and 20 years since the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Professor Muhammad Yunus and Grameen Bank, milestones that have inspired a global movement for social business and poverty-free societies.

This event will also mark the beginning of a yearlong global celebration honoring these achievements, which will continue through satellite events, dialogue exchanges, collaborations, and community gatherings across the world.

Join us in Dhaka, Bangladesh, for two days of dialogue, collaboration, and inspiration with leaders and innovators from around the world.

🌟 A Major Milestone for Women’s Leadership in Energy — Now at AIT

On 5 February 2026, the Yunus Center at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) proudly hosted the Soft Launch of the WePOWER Regional Secretariat (WRS) in partnership with The World Bank.

This event marks an exciting new chapter as the WePOWER Secretariat officially transitions to its permanent regional home at AIT—strengthening collaboration across South Asia to advance:

⚡ Women’s participation in the power and energy sector
👩‍🔬 Leadership in STEM and technical fields
🌍 Inclusive and resilient energy transitions

The launch brought together distinguished partners and diplomatic representatives, including:
• H.E. Mr. Faiyaz Murshid Kazi, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Thailand
• Ms. Kajal Gupta, Delegate from the Embassy of India

🌐 More than 85 participants joined online from across the region, including representatives from the Maldives, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

This milestone builds upon the success of the SAR100 Leadership Program, supported by the Australian Government (DFAT), which has been instrumental in nurturing a strong pipeline of women leaders in the energy sector.

The Innokids Entrepreneurship Workshop was successfully held on January 14 at the AIT Entrepreneurship Center, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). The workshop was organized by the Yunus Center, AIT, and Dr. Rafiuddin Ahmed, Founder of InnoKids.

The session featured an interactive discussion–based entrepreneurship thinking class, designed to cultivate creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial mindsets. The workshop actively engaged children, young learners, and parents, providing them with practical insights into entrepreneurial thinking through meaningful dialogue and guided activities.

We would like to thank our esteemed guest speaker, parents, and enthusiastic participants whose active involvement made this workshop both impactful and memorable. Their support and engagement contributed greatly towards the event.

On January 2nd, the Pakistan Student Association (PSA) at AIT had the incredible honor of visiting the Pakistani Embassy in Thailand. A group of 40 remarkable women from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), who were awarded scholarships to study in Thailand, had the chance to meet with Her Excellency, Ambassador Ms.Rukhsana Afzal.

This gathering was not just a meeting, but a celebration of opportunities and empowerment for KP women to pursue education far from home. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, share experiences, and strengthen our community bonds.
