Design Intelligence for the Creative Economy, in partnership with TOA Paint (Thailand) and developed under the MOU with King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, joined Architect Expo 2026 with a Talk Session that showcased how design education is evolving within the creative economy.
As part of the TOA Color Trends 2026, our first-year students developed character designs based on personality frameworks like the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, combined with TOA’s future color trends. Each character became a visual translation of identity—using color, form, and style to express distinct personality traits.
This exercise goes beyond aesthetics. It trains students to interpret human behavior and translate it into design decisions with intention—an essential foundation for creating meaningful and market-relevant work.
Congratulations to Jidapha Tirakhan (Mil) Year one for her outstanding work and A. Podchara for being the design consult throughout the project

KMITL teamed up with Dek-D's TCAS สอบติดไปด้วยกัน to host the annual KMITL Open House Fair, bringing together schools from across the university to showcase what they do and what they stand for.
At the School of Architecture, Art, and Design - KMITL, the booth quickly became one of the busiest spots in the hall. People didn’t just walk past, they stopped, stayed, and got involved.
The Character Room Creation Workshop, led by DICE (Design Intelligence for Creative Economy) with support from BE.I KMITL, was one of the most registered activities of the event. And it made sense. It started with something simple, just a random scribble. But as people worked through it, those lines turned into characters with personality and story.
What it showed, very clearly, is that creativity isn’t about being naturally “good.” It’s about how you see things, and what you choose to do with them.
That way of thinking sits at the core of DICE, and reflects AAD’s broader direction under Cultural Design Innovation. Here, design is not just about making things look good. It’s about understanding, translating, and creating meaning from what’s already around you.
At AAD, we don’t just show you design.
We let you experience how it works.
Special Thank you to A.Kong for leading and for the mini-lecture on the introduction to character creation ,A. Kiuu for the support, the Dean of the School of Architecture Art and Design and Vice Deans for making the event happen.

Today, DICE students traveled to Chachoengsao, visiting the community of Ban Ang Toei (บ้านอ่างเตย), to explore local wisdom rooted in community-based products and materials.
Through direct engagement with local makers, students observed how traditional knowledge, resourcefulness, and cultural context shape the creation of everyday objects. The visit offered insight into how materials are sourced, adapted, and transformed into products that carry both functional and cultural value.
This experience reflects DICE’s approach to design. Meaningful innovation often begins with listening to communities, learning from existing practices, and recognizing the value embedded in local contexts.
Stay tuned to see how our students translate the community’s local wisdom into the creative economy.
Special thanks to A. Pat Pattarapongmanee for leading this collaboration in partnership with the Equitable Education Fund (EEF) Equitable Education Fund Thailand and the Chachoengsao community, with support from A. Aom, A. Kong, and A. Prompt.
