(high-intermediate level)

1) กลั้นยิ้มไม่ไหว glân yím mâi-wǎi
I can’t help but smile! / I can’t keep from smiling!

2) (เขา)พยายามกลั้นยิ้ม(อย่างสุดความสามารถ) (kǎo) pá-yaa-yaam glân yím (yàang-sùt-kwaam-sǎa-mâat)
(He) tried not to smile (as best he could). / (He) tried (to the best of his ability) to keep from smiling.

3) อยากรู้ว่ามันรู้สึกยังไง / อยากรู้ว่ามันรู้สึกอย่างไร yàak rúu wâa man rúu-sʉ̀k yang-ngai / yàak rúu wâa man rúu-sʉ̀k yàang-rai
I want to know how it feels. / He wanted to know what it felt like.

(mid-advanced level)

1) ฉันไม่ทันคิด IDIOMATIC chǎn mâi-tan-kít
I wasn’t thinking. / I didn’t have time to think about it. / I didn’t know (better). (so I didn’t understand what was going on and made a mistake, etc.)

2) (สวยงาม)น่าตื่นตาตื่นใจ (sǔai-ngaam) nâa-dtʉ̀ʉn-dtaa-dtʉ̀ʉn-jai
It was breathtakingly (beautiful)! / (She is) a feast for the eyes! / (It’s) amazingly beautiful!

3) เธออยู่ยงคงกระพัน təə yùu yong-kong grà-pan
She’s invincible! / You’re still alive after all this time! / She’s still around!

4) (เพื่อนคนหนึ่งสะดุด)ล้มลงไปกองกับพื้น (pʉ̂an kon-nʉ̀ng sà-dùt) lóm-long bpai gɔɔng-gàp-pʉ́ʉn
(A friend of mine tripped and) fell to the ground in a heap.

5) ฟ้าฝนไม่เป็นใจ LITERARY/IDIOM fáa-fǒn mâi-bpen-jai

Note: ยิ่งหย่อน (yîng-yɔ̀n) means less than, fewer than, or inferior to.

Note: เป็นประวัติการณ์ (bpen-bprà-wàt-gaan) can also have the meaning ‘unprecedented’ or ‘without precedent’.

18) เขาปิดทองหลังพระ IDIOM kǎo bpìt-tɔɔng-lǎng-prá
He did it without drawing attention to himself. / She gave of herself without expecting any recognition.
Note: Literally ‘to put gold leaf on the back of a Buddha image’.

19) เจ็บจนจุก jèp jon jùk
It hurts so bad! / It hurt so bad I couldn’t breathe!

20) เข้าหูซ้ายทะลุหูขวา kâo hǔu sáai tá-lú hǔu kwǎa
It went in one ear and out the other. / It goes in one ear and out the other ear. (doesn’t listen, etc.)

🍨Some people like a big group because there are many people to talk. But this group is just a small group because we focus on learning a language, not a social talk like other meetup.

👷‍♂️Someone might be disappionted and won't come again because this is not a Thai course like in a language school. There are no any steps because it depends on a learner who comes. Each person doesn't know Thai as well as another one; someone knows more but someone knows less. Someone wants to learn this topic but someone wants to learn another topic. You have different strokes for different folks. So, you can learn whatever you want to learn.

💞If you're free this Saturday and don't go anywhere, come to learn something new. Some people think that Thai is difficult and give up. But actually every language i difficult. Each language has its own difficulty. However, Thai language is not too difficult to learn. You just need time to understand it. Keep on learning it!

👨‍🔧Now the escalators of EM Tower are open. You can use them to go directly to Swedish Café if you're lazy to get into EMSPHERE. But if you want to get into EMSPHERE, you can use red elevators which are on the left side of EMSPHERE and go up to the 3rd floor, get into IKEA and go along many show rooms, just follow arrows on the floor and the signs "Swedish restaurant and café". In the long run, you can see an exit on the left side which is an entrance to "Swedish restaurant and café". Turn left and go straight on and you'll see Swedish café. Turn right and you can see some trees at the end of café. The meeting area is right there.
