Shrewsbury International School Bangkok Riverside

Congratulations to all participating schools and students, and to our Riverside team for achieving second place in the 2nd Annual Bangkok Junior Science Competition.

For this year's event, we welcomed 50 Year 5 and 6 students from seven international schools across Bangkok. This included students from Shrewsbury City Campus, reflecting our shared academic standards and collaboration across our One School, Two Campuses community.

Following three morning quiz rounds, students took part in a series of laboratory sessions led by our Senior School Science Department. These sessions introduced our junior students to advanced safety protocols and inquiry-based learning, showcasing their impressive academic capabilities as they confidently engaged with high-level scientific concepts.

On behalf of Shrewsbury International School Bangkok Riverside, we join in celebrating the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana’s birthday on 3rd June, 2026.

Our Student Council recently led the Clean Air Campaign, raising awareness about air pollution in Bangkok and encouraging our community to take small steps that can help make a difference.

As part of the campaign, students organised a poster competition and keyring design initiative, with the winning design by Rolla in Year 5 transformed into recycled keyrings made from bottle tops. Through the project, 3,176 plastic bottles were recycled, helping to reduce the carbon footprint by approximately 23.76 kg CO₂e.

Supported by Junior student volunteers, the campaign was a meaningful example of students turning ideas into action and working together to create a positive impact within the community.

Shrewsbury Bangkok Riverside was honoured to welcome Mr Nick Dodd, Chief Operating Officer of Shrewsbury School UK, during his recent visit to Asia. The visit reflects the strong relationship between Riverside and its prestigious UK founding school, whose British heritage and tradition of educational excellence continue to shape our learning approach and educational vision.

Year 6 had an incredible time taking part in workshops with professional actor Vin Kridakorn, exploring how breath and voice can be used to truly bring characters to life.

With experience spanning theatre productions, commercials and performances in both New York and Bangkok, Vin shared a huge amount of insight, energy and expertise with our students who absolutely loved every minute and learnt so much from the experience.

A massive thank you also to Vin for serving as a judge for the ‘Best Overall Winner’ category at this year’s Junior Film Festival. We are so grateful for his time, encouragement and support of the performing arts at our school!

We are honoured to have received the Silver Award in the Oppidan Mentoring Awards 2026, recognising outstanding mentoring practice and student support at Shrewsbury International School Bangkok Riverside. Judges were especially impressed by the work done to align mentoring with the school’s core values and with the far reaching impact for students.

Through our collaboration with Oppidan Education, our Year 9 1:1 mentoring programme empowers students to develop the character strengths and scholarly traits that will enable them to flourish at school and beyond. We are immensely proud of our students and their personal development this year.

Family Fun Night x Rock on the River: Into the Blue is a special community evening hosted by our Shrewsbury Parents, featuring live music, games, DIY activities, food stalls and entertainment. Designed for all ages to enjoy, the event is a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to come together and create memorable moments by the river.

Our Junior Film Festival 2026, Into the Wonder, brought together Years 4, 5 and 6 for a spectacular evening celebrating storytelling, creativity and student film-making. Rooted in a Film curriculum that encourages students to express ideas, explore perspectives and make sense of the world through storytelling, the festival provided an authentic platform for students to showcase their creativity and collaboration through film.

With themed decorations, live music, food vendors, photo backdrops and a celebratory awards ceremony, the evening captured the atmosphere of a true film premiere. Thank you to our guest judges from the film and creative industries for helping make the experience even more memorable for our young filmmakers.
