From Movies to Memories 🎥

What a wonderful way to celebrate another amazing school year! Our Annual Function 2026 brought beloved movie stories to life through the talents, creativity, and enthusiasm of our students.

On 5 June 2026, we celebrated our Annual Function 2026, marking the end of another successful academic year. This year's theme, "Movies to Memories," brought the magic of the big screen to life as students showcased their talents through a variety of performances inspired by popular films and stories.

Each year level selected a movie theme to represent, transforming the stage into a colourful journey through beloved favourites such as Trolls, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Encanto, and many more. From charming, dramatic performances to singing and dancing routines, our students captivated the audience, demonstrating their creativity, confidence, and enthusiasm.

The event also featured a range of musical performances by our talented students. Parents and guests enjoyed beautiful piano and violin performances, while this year also featured a special performance using tone chimes, a new musical instrument that our students have been learning and exploring.

One of the most memorable moments of the morning was the performance of "Golden" by our Secondary students, who brought energy and excitement to the stage. The celebration concluded with a spectacular finale as students from across the school joined together to perform "A Million Dreams," accompanied by our student orchestra. The performance served as a fitting conclusion to a wonderful year, celebrating the dreams, achievements, and memories created throughout the academic year.

The Annual Function was a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together and celebrate the hard work, growth, and accomplishments of our students. We would like to thank all students, teachers, staff, and parents for their support in making this event such a memorable success.

As we reflect on the memories made this year, we look forward to the exciting opportunities and achievements that await us in the year ahead.

When Kyu joined St. Mark's in Year 5, he could barely speak English. At his previous school, he often felt bored, disconnected, and did not enjoy going to school.

What transformed Kyu was not tutoring or pressure—it was being part of a school where teachers genuinely cared, classmates were welcoming, and learning became enjoyable.

As his confidence grew, so did his ability. By the time he graduated, Kyu had achieved three Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards for Top in Thailand in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. He also received scholarship offers from prestigious universities, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University to study Electronic and Computer Engineering.

Kyu's journey is a powerful reminder that when children feel supported, valued, and inspired, they often achieve far more than anyone imagined.

At St. Mark's, we believe every child has untapped potential. Our role is to nurture that potential through strong relationships, personalised attention, and a caring learning environment where students can truly thrive.

If you are looking for a school where your child will be known, supported, and challenged to achieve their best, we invite you to book a private tour and experience St. Mark's for yourself.

Places in some year levels are limited due to our commitment to maintaining small class sizes and individual attention.

In Thai Music class, our Year 1 students learned about “Toey Khong”, a traditional folk song from the Northeastern region of Thailand (Isan). This lively and cheerful style of music is known for its fun rhythm, energetic singing, and joyful atmosphere.

Students explored how “Toey Khong” is often performed in traditional Mor Lam performances, where singers respond to one another playfully and entertainingly. They also learned about traditional Thai musical instruments commonly used in this style, such as the khaen, long drum, and ching.

During the lesson, students enjoyed listening to the music, learning about Thai culture, and practicing simple rhythms together. It was a fun and engaging experience that helped students appreciate the richness of Thai traditional music.

Our Year 3 students are learning about the different systems in the human body and the organs that make up each system. This week, they focused on the digestive system and completed three activities to further enhance their understanding of this topic.
The first activity involved simulating the process of digestion using a model. Through this activity, students were able to understand how food is digested, absorbed, and transported around the body by the blood.

The second activity focused on “Digestion in the Mouth.” The aim was to determine whether the mouth plays a role in digestion. Each student enjoyed a plain biscuit, and in groups, they brainstormed how teeth and saliva help to break down food and make it soft before swallowing. Through this activity, they learned that eating slowly and chewing food properly supports good digestion.
The final activity was “Digestion Bingo,” where students were given a bingo worksheet to play. The purpose of this activity was to help them become familiar with the different organs and processes involved in digestion, as well as the spelling of related technical terms.

The students were highly engaged throughout all activities and gained a deeper understanding of the topic.
