If you’re still in the same bucket —
that’s a choice.

Even though people don’t read books as much these days,

I still get lost in the atmosphere of a bookstore.

The silence.

The colours.

The stories waiting to be touched.

You don’t need me to tell you —

you can probably guess which section I always sink into.

I’ve always been obsessed with vintage chintz florals —
the soft colours, textured petals, and that gentle nostalgic feeling.

I’ve noticed many artists painting on long square cakes,
and I finally wanted to try this shape myself.
It gives such a beautiful space to paint on… almost like a real canvas.

For this piece, I used a paintbrush with buttercream,
building soft strokes, blended colours, and delicate textures
to bring these chintz-inspired florals to life.
A little experiment that feels truly “me.” ✨🌿

A mix of palette-knife strokes and soft paint-brush details — all created with Italian buttercream for smooth blending and crisp floral textures.

Working on a chilled cake is always the secret: cool surface = clean colours + sharper details.
No magic, just patience, control of your hand pressure, and practice. 🌸
