The Center of Excellence of Oral Health and Healthy Longevity at Chulalongkorn University Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University was invited by the Thailand Science Research and Innovation Fund (TSRI) and Ministry of Higher Education, Science & Innovation for a brainstorming workshop on the theme"Thailand Organoid Research & Technology" on August 6, 2026. We also had the pleasure to bring together for this session our research collaborators from the Faculties of Engineering, Medicine and Allied Sciences. The future of organoid technology goes well beyond organoids and will encompass the humanized New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), which includes also organ-on-chip and the integration with in silico models and computational biology. The future of NAMs is here to de-risk R&D pipelines/therapies and accelerate drug development towards the prompt entrance into clinical trial stage. Let's build the future of NAMs for the benefit of Thai people and the World. Come and join us in this research journey!

Another cancer research work has been published by our Center of Excellence and Innovation for Oral Health & Healthy Longevity, led by Assoc. Prof. Risa Chaisuparat Mink Chaisuparat. In this report, we aimed to characterize the proliferative and immunophenotypic profiles of salivary gland mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) and to explore their associations with clinicopathologic features, tumour microenvironment (TME) characteristics, Pan-TRK expression, and disease prognosis. This work is part of the PhD thesis dissertation of our recent Oral Biology graduate Dr. Trần Ngọc Thụy Vy. Congrats Dr. Vy for this achievement and for helping to unveil the pathological mechanisms of these highly recurrent salivary gland cancers that are very challenging to treat. Please enjoy our published work here: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0020653926001103?via%3Dihub

Our PhD candidate, Dr. Chau Lam, has published her latest work on salivary gland cancer-on-chip. Her cancer chip work is now online by Engineered Regeneration Journal (CiteScore 23.3). In this study, she and our team developed an injectable tissue-specific dECM hydrogel that supports salivary gland cancer cell growth, ductal phenotype & secretory function within a microfluidic platform. This platform enables the bioengineering of a SG cancer-on-a-chip model for disease modeling and anti-cancer drug screening applications. Feel free to check it out!
