We know that a brighter future starts with an education and giving children everywhere the tools and Education

"Since 2018, we've been running a free learning center for refugees and asylum seekers in our community. We're proud to say that we've successfully helped 6 students graduate with their GED, and 2 of them are now ready to enroll in university!

However, our funds for this year are not enough to cover the expenses for the learning center. That's why we're reaching out to our community for more support. If you believe in our cause and want to help us continue providing education to those in need, please consider donating to our learning center. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who are striving for a better future.

"Attention all friends and supporters! We are excited to announce that we are raising funds for refugee children's education through our learning center, CLC. We promise you that every single cent of your donation will be worth it, as it will go towards providing education and opportunities to those who are in need.

As a non-profit organization, we rely on the support of our community to continue making a difference in the lives of refugee children. If you're interested in learning more or making a donation, please contact us at [email protected].

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support. Together, we can make a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most. God bless you all!"

The students had another fun week working on their projects. They have built great teamwork and have improved their efficiency.

Here are some of their creativity displayed in their classrooms! ✨

After 4 years with Cedar Learning Center, these six students have completed their GED. We wish to hold this graduation ceremony as a big celebration but are being forced to postpone it due to COVID-19.

Our wish to celebrate this event grandly is to set an example to NGOs that achievements like these can be made possible by refugee and asylum seeker children. They can make a way for themselves if given the opportunity.

Our heartfelt gratitude to those who have been with us through these times.

I am truly delighted to announce that Cedar Learning Center has been successfully running for 4 years and is entering its 5th year.

First, I would love to thank all the loving hearts who were willing to support me and wanted refugee children to get proper education here in Thailand. Truly thankful to all those who believed in me even when many said I won't be able to run this learning center for more than 3 months. I have already proved them wrong by running this center for 5 years now. I am about to prove them wrong again by showing the graduation of 6 of my students with GED. Furthermore, we have discussed with a university about our students' university admissions. I would like to thank the volunteer teachers who have taught the students for all this time. Without your teaching and guidance, the students wouldn’t have gotten to where they are right now. You also have a great part in CLC and the students’ success.

CLC has struggled and has faced many challenges since its beginning. However, we have still been running to make a better future for our students and are still running to help many other refugee children have an education they would have not been able to get in Thailand. CLC personally believes that "Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world." Following this, CLC will continue to support anyone who seeks CLC's support.

CLC was my dream, and I will do my best to keep it running, no matter the circumstances.

Once again, I am truly thankful to everyone who has believed in me in running CLC. We will overcome any problems that we will be facing in the future and continue to provide the education every refugee kid needs.

Today, 7 of the GED students and I went to Thamassat University to present our lives as refugee and asylum seeker under the topic of “migrants” to the students studying in the Global Studies Department there.

We were given the opportunity to convey our messages of how refugees and asylum seekers are treated in Thailand, which differs completely from how they are portrayed to be treated. We were able to explain how our reality differs from online articles and videos.

I strongly belief that the students’ knowledge of this topic could change many people’s view and treatment of refugees and asylum seekers. I hope the students understood what we wanted to convey. We also requested them to spread our messages to their families and people to raise more awareness of refugee and asylum seeker’s lives.

I am also proud to say that some of our GED students will be starting their university studies this August.

My dream of 4 years has finally been fulfilled.

I would like to convey my deepest gratitude to those who were the backbone in helping me run CLC. You were the primary factor in CLC coming so far.

I am likely grateful to those who dismissed and challenged me about the capability of running and continuing the learning center. It was you who drived me to work harder towards my goal.

This December, two of my students have completed their GED. My students have received scores better the best GED test taker at Paradigm Education, the testing center that my students took the exam in.

We are working with Thammasat University for the students’ admission. CLC will be with the students throughout and continue to support them with their studies at the university.

Dear Friends this story impacted me so much. Please, take some to read it till the end.

My name is Niroshan, I am running a free learning center for refugees and Asylum seekers in Thailand called Cedar Learning Center. The learning center began in 2018, from begging till now I am able to run this learning center with the support of my wife, friends, and myself.in 2021 Partners Asia came forward to support the learning center during the covid-2019 pandemic because my wife and I were facing financial problems.

2022 expenses will be challenging for us because we are relocating to a new place and the rent is double then our last place. I am in need of more support to cover the 2022 expenses, I wouldn't like to bother my current donors by requesting more support, therefore, I went to a church in Sukhumiv which is suggested by one of my friends to ask for some support.

Day 1
I met the pastor of the church and explain to him why am here to meet him. I would take it normal if he just said it in one word no for my request but he asked me too many questions that related to my look and religion.

His first double was how I and my family survive and what we are doing for the income and how much I am taking from the learning center for myself. I answer all his questions patiently because I like to clear them to all my donors as well before I make any request for the learning center. the most hurt question was what Christian am I? I told him that I am Catholic then he said go and ask for support from the Catholic churches. I didn't talk one more word to him just left the place.

Day 2
I went to a Catholic church which I used to go to every Sunday since I came to Thailand. I met with the head Priest, he didn't ask me about my religion because I am very familiar with that church and of course he sees me at Sunday's mass. After I explain to him why I am here to meet him and what is my request, he simply said that the learning center is unregistered and they only support the organization that is registered as per Thai law.

My thanks to those 2 churches even though they gave me the chance to meet and explain my request but there are many churches that I request for an appointment not even ready to meet me or listen to my request.

I learn as a Christian in Thailand, that a Christian should be great in look and fair skin. The bible said Jesus will come again but I am sure the churches these days will not let him enter the prayer if he is not a fair skin man wearing branded clothes, that's the reason why Jesus has not yet returned. Many churches let refugees and Asylum seekers beg other foreigners at the church but they couldn't come forward to support their needs.

Bible Verse: Jone 2:16
To those who sold doves, he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!”
this happened in Jesus's time it was business but in 2021 churches are doing marketing. I hope Jesus will return soon to destroy these days' churches.

I am requesting everyone out there to see the humans as humans, not their skin, look, and status.
especially refugees are not Aliens they are also human just like everyone with feelings and dreams.
I am telling from my experience if you don't treat the people equally who are in lower status than you, there is will be no peace in your life.

My long waiting achievement:
I have 43 students in my learning center and 6 of them will graduate in January 2022, 4 of them will start university in Thailand as their next step of education.

Cedar learning center has created a fundraising page and hopes to get support from you all to target our needed amount.

We have received a 500 USD donation from a kind heart person for our official page post.
Since our Facebook post has no donation option and it's complicated for everyone to find a way to transfer the donation to CLC and take a lot of your precious time.
We have created this Gofund page to make things easier for our donors to support CLC.

I am really in need of this donation before the end of December to confirm our new place of CLC. It's important to have a safe rooftop if CLC.

Thanks in advance for your great support.
Please, kindly share around to let more people know about CLC.

Urgent Support needed for 2022

we have lost the current place of CLC and need to move into a new place at the end of December.
Our monthly expenditures are higher than last year due to our new place rent is higher than the current place. Finding a new place is very challenging due to safety and most people do not want to rent it for a refugee learning center.

The total Funds need for 2022 is 32,000 USD
Partners Asia committed funds is 22,000 USD
Friends and donors support is around 3,000 USD
Outstanding funds need for 2022 is 7,000 USD

I am not looking for this fund to be from one person or a big amount of funds. Small funds are also mean a lot to us. you can sponsor 1 student per month which is cost 50 USD. can be sponsored per year or as long as you want.

if 12 students got sponsors that will be enough funds for us to manage the expenses and I promise that I can graduate 15 students at the end of 2022 from CLC.
our 6 GED students will be graduating from CLC in February 2022 and we are working on finding the university for our graduated students.

I am thankful for all the friends and donors who helped me all these years, you made this possible. I am so grateful to you all for helping us to experience the 5th year of CLC.

I truly promise that every single cent of your money will be worth donating to refugee children's education through CLC.
Thank you and God Bless you,
