📢 New Equitable Education Alliance (EEA) Publication
UNESCO Bangkok and the Equitable Education Fund (Thailand), as co-chairs of the EEA are launching the “Flexible Learning Strategies that Work: Promising Approaches and Recommendations for Youth Not in Employment, Education, or Training (NEET) in South-East Asia.”
The publication highlights how flexible learning strategies can help re-engage NEET youth in South-East Asia through inclusive, adaptable pathways to education and skills development. Findings and regional promising practices will be presenting during the High-level event for the 2026 GEM Report Countdown to 2030: Access and Equity on 25 March 2026.

🏫📉 School dropout and youth disengagement remain serious and growing challenges across Southeast Asia—addressing them requires urgent, collective action.

The “Preventing School Dropout and Youth Disengagement in South-East Asia” panel, organised by UNESCO and EFF Thailand through the Equitable Education Hub, brought together academics, local government representatives, and education experts from Thailand, Malaysia, and Canada to share practical approaches to supporting young people who are not in education, employment, or training (NEETs).

Key insights from the discussion included:
📊 How national data systems are used to prevent school dropout in Malaysia
🏫 How differentiated teaching in Canada promotes equity in diverse classrooms
🤝 Why multi-sector collaboration is essential to re-engage youth
