Power point lessons take time and effort to build and I would like to make the best possible lessons for you, so please be patient and I promise their will be great, fun and interesting lessons that will keep you wanting to progress your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

Welcome to a new kind of English course!

Talk a Lot is a great new way to learn spoken English, and quite a departure from the
standard ELT course book. Instead of spending hours reading and writing, students have the
opportunity to engage in challenging and fun speaking and listening activities with their friends.

On this course students learn how to think in English as well as Talk a Lot!
The Talk a Lot course objectives are very simple:
• Every student talking in English
• Every student listening to and understanding English
• Every student thinking in English, and
• Every student taking part in class

Talk a Lot is structured so that every student can practise and improve English grammar,
vocabulary, pronunciation, intonation, word and sentence stress, and interpersonal skills, by
working in pairs, groups and one to one with the teacher.

The main benefits of Talk a Lot are:
• Students have to think in English during lessons in a controlled and focused way

• Students learn how to memorise correct English structures naturally, without abstract
and unrelated grammar lessons

• Students learn how to construct eight different common verb forms, using positive,
negative and question forms, as well as embedded grammar appropriate to their
level. The verb forms studied are: Present Simple, Present Continuous, Past Simple,
Past Continuous, Present Perfect, Modal Verbs, Future Forms, and First Conditional

• Students learn 400+ essential vocabulary words by heart

• Students enjoy following a simple and effective method that produces results quickly
The ten lesson topics studied on the first course are: Town, Food, Shopping,
Health, Transport, Clothes, Work, Family, Home, and Free Time.

Here is how every lesson will progress.
15 minutes C.A. tests. Welcome and vocabulary test based on the previous topic.

15 minutes free practice. The teacher will introduce the topic of the lesson. Each student will do a show and tell.

20 minutes sentence focus. Teacher introduces the sentence blocks and students produce sentence blocks in pairs.

10 minutes discussion questions. The teacher will introduce the questions and check understanding by the student.

30 minutes free practice. Students will work in pairs or small groups students will use pre set questions to produce answers to the questions. This maybe an Agree or Disagree situation or a Role Play situation.

30 minutes refreshment time. Students can enjoy pre booked International cuisine if they choose too or just sit around and talk (in English) with their fellow students and friends.

25 minutes C.A. Test. Students will be tested on the sentence structure they can produce from the previous lesson.

25 minutes word focus activities. Various activities will be used that coincide with the topic of the day.

30 minutes sentence focus. The students will practice the sentence blocks again, this time with no written record, nothing on the board. The teacher will check pronunciation and sentence block usage. Then the teacher will ask questions relating to the topic and the student will be able to answer using the sentence blocks learnt.

10 minutes free practice. Students can ask any English related question.

Book you 1 day course for 12 weeks or 2 day course for 6 weeks.The course is limited to 10 students per class 2 lessons per day Wednesday or Thursday evening 4.00pm until 7.30pm with a 30 minute interval where international cuisine can be ordered!
