Life in the 21st century needs someone assertive, independent, and determined. Clearly gone are the days when our parents used to save for us and furnish us with all that which we longed for, I mean even that which we were told we have a right to them just can’t afford, and we can hold them at ransom for that. So, for all this horrible life in our generation who is to blame, who is responsible? I’ve listened to so many people point fingers at someone else other than themselves, it’s always someone who is a trouble causer. I ask myself is really there any help that we can get from this blame game, I doubt very much, instead that has been used as a scapegoat. We have found a valid reason for every failure, comfort in every sorrowful life we live day in day out, it's pitiful. Should we continue expecting someone to come and solve our problems? Should we fold our hands, accept the defeat and say we shall continue living like this forever since none is showing up to help me out? What are you doing to change your situation? Young man for how long shall you continue begging? At some point, Paul reminded the Thessalonians “
Surely you remember, brothers, our toil and hardship; we worked night and day in order not to be a burden to anyone while we preached the gospel of God to you.
(1 Thess 2:9 NIV)”. If a highly esteemed man of God worked day and night to earn a living who are you to sleep and expect a miracle if anything from who because our God hates laziness. Human beings were fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps 139:14 NIV), we all have what it takes to be independent, to be financially sound, and to lead a decent life. Speaking of 2020 a lot of businesses shut down as COVID-19 hit the world unexpectedly, economies fell and everything came to a standstill. All the doors were seemingly shut, but amidst that, some people had to take a break and ask themselves what do I see? Yes, it’s not always about whether you see or not, but it’s also about what is it that you are seeing. When everyone else sees no light and loses hope, look closer, pray and work hard surely you will find an opportunity. I can assure you some people made a good income during this lockdown some even from mere designing, sewing, and selling of face masks. With some even seeing the pandemic as an opportunity to evangelize; yes, we saw and bought masks with soul-saving messages. Some sold stuff online while others quickly became online marketers and ran websites, blogs, and pages in ways that brought them income. Some took the opportunity to start their farming projects and yes, they are doing well. This world is always ready and happy to pay head workers and innovators, it will never disappoint. During the same lockdown, there is a lot who thought well here comes an opportunity to sleep, and they slept like corona would pay them for that. Remember it is about that which you see. It is true and painful to say that some of us in fact most of us were and continue to lie idle, watch television all day, flood social media with jokes and slaying photographs, complain about the failing government, eat and get fat. Every situation is multifaceted. Your perception of it is entirely your choice, however more often than not many choose the easy way out, the ones that are comfortable and are less demanding hence poverty has struck, and we have all been lessened to beggars. What were you doing during a lockdown? Do you think that was the best you could have done? As the lockdown eases what ideas and plans do you have about your life? Young people need to think and use their intellectual power, young people need to work hard and direct their efforts towards productivity. Young people are the future of this world, COME OUT and shine. God has promised if you commit your plans to Him, and they will come to fruition (Pro 16:3).
