New lesson is live on Patreon!
In today's lesson, we'll be exploring the Present Perfect Tense using 'ไป...มา'. This structure is a key aspect of Thai language that helps us express experiences and events that connect the past and present. With this lesson, you'll be able to form both positive and negative sentences, and closed-ended questions to communicate your past experiences.
Some examples of sentences using the Present Perfect Tense are:
"ผมไปเที่ยวไทยมาครับ" (pŏm bpai tîieow tai maa kráp), meaning "I’ve traveled to Thailand."
"ไปกินข้าวมาค่ะ" (bpai gin kâao maa kâ), meaning "I’ve gone to eat."
"ดูหนังกับแฟนมา" (doo năng gàp faen maa), meaning "I’ve watched a movie with my girlfriend/boyfriend."
"ฉันยังไม่ได้ไปทำงานมาค่ะ" (chăn yang mâi dâai bpai tam ngaan maa kâ), meaning "I haven’t gone to work yet."
"เค้ายังไม่ได้กินข้าวเย็นมา" (káo yang mâi dâai gin kâao yen maa), meaning "He hasn’t had dinner yet."
"ไม่ได้ไปทะเลมา" (mâi dâai bpai tálay maa), meaning "I haven’t gone to the sea."
Included in today's lesson is a full video lesson that is 14 minutes long with lots of examples, as well as a pdf file to help reinforce your learning. Let's get started and master this important aspect of Thai language!
