Dear friends,
Thank you so much for contributing to our recent GivingTuesday 2025 campaign!
We are overwhelmed by the generosity of so many individuals during this campaign, and this emphatically includes you. We are deeply grateful for your faith in the work that we do; and that is always a big source of encouragement for us to keep going and to improve and refine our work.
During this campaign, we received $12,330 in actual donations and $1,881 in matching funds, for a total of $14,211. The matching funds work out to a boost of 15.25% over and above your donation. If you donated $100, for example, your total donation with matching came to $115.25 USD. The total we received from your generous contribution allows us to offer more than two additional full scholarships to the students on our list.
We have not yet raised what we need to bring 12 students to our three-month SENS 2026 residential course starting in January. However, we remain undaunted. We will seek additional grants from a variety of humanitarian organizations, try to increase the number of our monthly donors, and also work very hard to make our funds go further by reducing costs wherever we can. We may also come back to you in April as we finish our course with GlobalGiving’s Little-by-Little campaign, in which large numbers of small donations are honored with matching grants.
With deep gratitude,

Meet Ye Mo Chit, from Shan State, Myanmar — our second Pa-O student invited to join SENS 2026.
Since relocating to Thailand, he has been doing incredible work supporting displaced Myanmar communities who face daily struggles just to survive.
We believe the SENS program can offer Ye Mo Chit a safe space not only to strengthen his English, but also to deepen his understanding of the social issues affecting his people — so that he can continue his work with even greater clarity and capacity.
✨ You can be part of his journey by supporting our ongoing crowdfunding campaign — the link is in the comment section below.

🌍 Join Us Tomorrow for 2025!
We're just 17 hours away from our biggest crowdfunding campaign of the year — GlobalGiving’s 2025 — and we’re so grateful for all of you who have supported us on this journey. Thanks to your generosity, we've been able to bring together remarkable young adults from across Asia through the SENS program.
This year, despite serious financial challenges, we’re determined to bring in a cohort of 14–18 students who are ready to grow, lead, and serve their communities.
Will you join us?
✨ Here’s how you can help:
- Save the date: Campaign opens December 2 at 12:00 AM New York time / 12:00 PM Indochina time (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and Indonesia).
- Set a reminder
- Give what you can — because during this time, even $10 becomes $15 and $500 becomes $750 thanks to GlobalGiving’s matching funds.
Together, we can continue to support communities of discerning and compassionate educators and activists in Southeast Asia and beyond!
With deep gratitude,
The SENS Work Team

Mi Mi is a Christian from the Lisu ethnic group, one of the minority communities living in the mountainous regions of Mandalay Division, Myanmar. She joined us earlier this year as a participant in SENS 2025.
✨ Let’s learn about what she has to say about her experience in the program!

Dear friends,
As we prepare for SENS 2026, we're excited to be forming a diverse cohort of students from many ethnic and national backgrounds across the region.
Today, we’d love to introduce you to Win Moe, a Mon student from Myanmar.
Growing up in a Burmese-speaking school system, Win Moe understands the importance of Burmese as a connecting language. But he also dreams of a future where Mon and other ethnic groups can study in their own languages, with equal opportunity.
When we asked about the challenges facing his community, he shared something that stayed with us: many children in his hometown leave school after middle school and head to Thailand for work. Win Moe hopes to change that. He wants to create better opportunities so that more young people from his area can continue their studies and contribute meaningfully to the future of the Mon people.
Having him in the SENS 2026 cohort means we’ll be strengthening the growing network of Mon alumni from our program — helping them connect, collaborate, and expand their impact.
✨ You can support Win Moe’s journey by sharing this post or donating to our project on December 2, during our biggest crowdfunding campaign of the year!

Dear friends
We are very happy to share the profile of one of the applicants we accepted quite early, as we reviewed applications and held interviews. It has been a rewarding process to get to know so many good people. More than 50 have applied, and we have invited roughly half for interviews. We are now in our final stages of selecting applicants we feel are most ready to benefit from and contribute to the SENS 2026 program.
Baby is from Mizoram, a state in the far northeast of India. Yet her mother was from Chin State in Myanmar and spoke both Mizo and Lai, reminding us of the strong cultural and linguistic ties that exist not only across this border between India and Myanmar, (and between South and Southeast Asia) but across most national and many regional borders.
To bring her to the SENS program in January 2026, we still need to raise $2,870 for her living expenses during the 3 months of our residential course. You can support her by donating to us on December 2, when we have our major crowdfunding campaign of the year. Even $10 goes a long way.
With gratitude,

As we approach the end of the year, the INEB Institute is working to raise scholarship funds for the 11th season of the School of English for Engaged Social Service (SENS).
This year, we’re excited to introduce a special opportunity: you can sponsor a student — like Nhi — and receive a personal letter from them every two to three weeks during the course of the program, sharing their experiences and progress. Nhi is the first applicant to take part in this new initiative, and we're thrilled to support her journey. We suggest a minimum sponsorship of $120, but we also welcome your thoughts on what feels meaningful and accessible for you.
We appreciate Nhi's persistence and her confidence in the quality of our program, as she has applied more than once. And at this time in her life and in the life of our program, we feel that she is the right fit. So if you have applied before but were not accepted, or if you were accepted but not funded, you needn't give up.
We truly appreciate how Nhi gathered together her own funds, even though she faced serious challenges in doing so. Combined with our partial scholarship, we are confident she'll be able to join SENS 2026.
But we still have to raise $1,800 USD to make that happen. Our situation this year is a bit more challenging than last, since we lost quite a lot of funds that were kindly offered to us from the Regional English Language Office of the US Embassy in Bangkok. And that was through no fault of their own! They are very kind people!
You can help Nhi by donating via the link in the comment section below.

Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for contributing to our recent Passport to Purpose campaign on GlobalGiving!
We are deeply grateful for your belief in our work — not only for the resources you’ve given us, but also for your decision to take concrete action in support of transformative education.
Your contribution will directly support students in the upcoming season of the School of English for Engaged Social Service (SENS), helping them build confidence in their voice, develop leadership rooted in compassion, and take meaningful action in their communities.
At a time when funding for philanthropic work — especially from public and governmental institutions — is becoming increasingly limited, your support means more than ever. Thank you for standing with us over these past days, months, and years, as the case may be. Your continued encouragement sustains us.
With heartfelt appreciation,
The SENS Work Team

Hello dear friends of SENS,
It’s day 3 of the Passport to Purpose campaign. We are still enthusiastically working to gather more resources to support our future students in the SENS 2026 program.
You still have time to help us reach this goal and get matched through the $215,000 incentive for every donation of at least $10. The Passport to Purpose ends on Friday at 17:00 New York Time or Saturday at 4:00 Thailand/Vietnam Time.
Help the SENS program today at Train Leaders in Asia for Peace and Sustainability page on the website with the link in the comment section below.
Climate crisis, socioeconomic inequality, and political violence won’t go away overnight—but together with the growing number of young adults inspired by our program, we know we can make a difference not only in our own lives and in the lives of our loved ones, but also in the broader communities we impact in Southeast Asia and beyond.
Forever grateful,
The SENS Work Team
