I’ve got a yard that is an small urban jungle I can barely walk through, but the biodiversity is amazing!

My (incomplete) resusable cup collection

From newest to oldest (left to right) Stanley, Yeti and Hydroflask. Each has its own purpose. I also have a klean kanteen growler, a bamboo thermos and a Trash Hero stainless steel one with plastic screw top lid. I got rid of all plastic ones a while back.

Even items that help with low waste living can be susceptible to patterns of consumerism! Think before you purchase to see if you really need an item and don’t fall for the latest fad. Tbh most of my reusable cups were gifts, only the Yeti and Klean Kanteen were purchased by me. However, I am resisting the urge to buy a new one because I know I already have plenty!

🌟 Reflection Time 🌟

Starting the investment journey in my 40s has been an eye-opener in ways I never expected. After years living abroad, I was oblivious to the fact that I was outside traditional social security schemes and had no nest age for retirement. I had never been told about the golden rule: "pay yourself first" and although I have savings, I had little to nothing invested for my future.

But did I bow my head and give up? Absolutely not! 🚀 Instead, I plunged headfirst into the world of wealth building. From the powerful simplicity in "The Simple Path to Wealth" by JL Collins to countless spreadsheets mapping out "what if" scenarios, I spent every spare moment finding out as much as I could about investing for my future.

Yes, this journey began with me feeling like I was playing catch-up and many sleepless nights. But here’s the thing I learned - it’s never too late to start. If you’re thinking you've missed the boat on investing, think again. The best time to start is not a decade ago – it's NOW.

I’ve learned that every dollar saved is a seed planted for a future tree. 🌳💰 Compound interest doesn’t discriminate by age; it only needs time and consistency.

So, if you're where I was, feeling like you're late to the game, I’m telling you from my heart: the starting line is just ahead. Lace up, take the first step, and keep moving forward. Your future self will thank you! Let’s embrace the journey of financial growth together.

Journalling one of the toughest questions I have ever come across -

And for those of you who can’t read my handwriting

“What would I ask for of I were unapologetic with what I truly desire?”

Now this was a hard question for me to answer as someone who had lived in lack for the greater part of 4 decades and as lived with an only child with a high sense of obligation and responsibility to my family (excuses, excuses) I did find some semblance of an answer that I found somewhat satisfactory.

I hope to revisit this question in about 6 months and see if anything has changed.

Happy journalling to you all!

Yay! That was fun! I love learning about abundance, manifestation (law of attraction/law of vibration). Another feather in my cap!

As I get ready for my debut as a money coach, I’m reflecting on my financial journey so far.

It’s been filled with lots of lots of worry and anxiety about money. There has been predominately scarcity and I’ve lived primarily in survival mode - where money is to be controlled and managed.

No one taught me how to manage money. Most of what I learned was through books - Rich Dad Poor Dad, The Millionaire Next Door, Relax into Wealth and most of it was out of necessity. I learned to save by living frugally. I learned to budget and manage my money. I learned to invest.

At 40, I had the sudden realization that I need to get serious about investing for regiment. I am proud to say that 3 years later I now have 150,000 USD invested for retirement. I will continue to save and invest until I have 1-1.5 million USD invested and can retire comfortably.

In addition to my investing journey, I’m also working on my money issues - money traumas if you will. I’m learning how to deal with these traumas and heal these wounds and as I do so, I hope to help others transition from maladaptive responses to money to healthy responses that welcome wealth and abundance.

I’m happy to say that my mindset around money has shifted and I’m seeking abundance and opportunities flow into my life with grace and ease, not strife and struggle.

Yes, I’m still the sustainability queen but I’m a multifaceted being with a strong desire to help others, especially if I can help being wealth and abundance into their lives.

Thanks for following me on my journey and stay tuned as I’ll be offering free discovery calls for anyone interested in working with me in the upcoming weeks.
