An educational program for all things food and environmental related. Experience, knowledge and recipes alike, they are best shared. Why cooking with us..

Bo.lan Education Program ( BEP ) is a spring off the decade long established Bo.lan Essentially Thai, the restaurant renowned for its truthfulness to the culinary heritage as well as its sustainable approaches in its operations. With experiences and knowledge we have accumulated during the restaurant times, it will be sad to keep them to ourselves. BEP values the concept of “Food Literacy”

Organic farming is more than chemical-free food production. It is a values-driven movement. According to IFOAM, it is guided by four principles: Health, Ecology, Fairness, and Care, aiming to protect both people and the environment.

At the Bo.lan Educational Program, these values form part of food literacy, showing that every ingredient reflects responsibility and the potential to shape a more sustainable future through everyday choices.

Spur Chili (Prik Chee Fah)

Gently spicy with a subtle sweetness, red spur chilies bring both color and character to Thai dishes. Their vibrant hue and balanced heat enhance everything from curries to stir-fries, adding depth without overwhelming the palate, while capsaicin, the natural compound responsible for their heat, helps stimulate appetite, support digestion, and promote healthy circulation.

Thai Fig (Maduea), a gently sweet fruit with a place in Thai cuisine.

With its soft texture and subtle floral sweetness, Thai fig offers a quiet contrast to bold Thai flavors. In Thai cooking, it can be used in dishes like green curry (gaeng keow wan) and other savory preparations, where it adds depth and a gentle sweetness. Thai figs are often smaller, firmer, and less intensely sweet than commonly seen varieties, making them especially suited for cooking.

They also provide natural dietary fiber that supports digestion, bringing both flavor and nourishment to the table.

Education is not just knowledge transfer. It is system design.

When people understand food systems, they change: • buying behavior • cooking habits • waste patterns • support networks • consumption culture

Bo.lan Educational Program positions food education as climate infrastructure — building long-term behavioral change through learning, not fear.
