Thank you to all the families who joined us for our World Environment Day "Stay and Play" session this morning. We hope you enjoyed the wildlife and nature themed, play-based activities. We especially loved seeing all the creative costumes!

The children were proud to showcase their collaborative world map artwork and eco-brick plant pots during the event. Congratulations to FS1 Tulips, who were delighted to win the Bird Feeder/Bug Hotel Class Competition, with their entry chosen at assembly for its design, colour, and decoration.

The event was a wonderful way to conclude our month-long theme, *The Wonder of Nature*, inspired by the BBC Leicester project celebrating Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday.

🌿 Learning Beyond the Classroom 🌿
At Kids' Academy International School, learning doesn't stop at the classroom door.
Today, our school was alive with learning in every corner of the campus. Some students were exploring nature, others were developing their creativity through photography, solving problems, collaborating with friends, practising physical skills, or simply discovering the world around them through play and investigation.
While every class was doing something different, all of our students were engaged in meaningful learning experiences. We are incredibly fortunate to have a campus that allows us to extend the classroom outdoors, providing opportunities for curiosity, exploration, and hands-on learning every day.
Because sometimes the best classroom has no walls. 🌳☀️

🌿📸 Year 5 & 6 Outdoor Photography Competition 📸🌿

To celebrate Global Outdoor Classroom Day, our Year 5 and 6 students took their learning beyond the classroom walls and into the park. Using photography to capture the beauty of nature, students explored their surroundings through a creative lens, searching for interesting perspectives, colours, patterns, and hidden treasures.

We are incredibly fortunate that our campus and local environment allow us to extend the classroom beyond four walls, creating meaningful learning experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and a deeper connection with the world around us.

Well done to all of our talented photographers! 🦋🌳🌸

At Kids' Academy Ekkamai, our children had a meaningful and joyful experience learning about Visakha Bucha Day. Through age-appropriate activities, they discovered the importance of this special Buddhist holiday and its values of kindness, respect, and mindfulness. The children participated in making merit, practiced simple meditation to encourage calmness and focus, and took part in a walked around the Buddha statue.

These experiences help them develop an appreciation for Thai culture and Buddhist traditions while nurturing positive character and spiritual awareness in a warm and supportive learning environment. 🌸🕯️🙏

This month, we celebrated David Attenborough and were inspired by BBC Leicester’s “Our Planet, Our Pledge” campaign. Through our whole-school theme, *The Wonder of Nature*, the children explored a variety of habitats and wildlife while learning about the importance of caring for our environment.

The children planted seeds in recycled yoghurt pots, created plant pots from eco-bricks, enjoyed special screenings of Sir David Attenborough’s world-renowned documentaries such as Blue Planet, made bird feeders and bug hotels, and began a collaborative world map art project.

Alongside these exciting activities, the children also enjoyed their regular sessions, including phonics, sensory room play, swimming, and outdoor learning. What a busy and inspiring month it has been!

🌊🐠 Seaside Adventures in FS1 🐙✨

The last few weeks, our FS1 area was transformed into an exciting underwater world as the children explored oceans, sea creatures and marine conservation alongside our whole-school David Attenborough project, 'The Wonder of Nature', inspired by BBC Leicester radios 'Our Planet, Our Pledge'.

The children loved learning about sea life through stories, creative activities and fascinating clips from the Blue Planet and other Attenborough documentaries.

Inspired by The Rainbow Fish, the children explored important themes of kindness, friendship and sharing while developing confidence in speaking and group discussions. 🐟💙

Our young learners have been incredibly creative, making colourful rainbow fish, turtles, jellyfish, coral reefs and a beautiful collaborative aquarium display using paint, collage, recycled materials and paper mâché. The FS1 area has been full of imagination, teamwork and excitement!

We also strengthened our maths and fine motor skills through fun ocean-themed activities including fishing games, counting sea creatures, matching numbers to 10, creating patterns with shells and placing cereal pieces onto octopus tentacles for counting practice. 🎣🔢

The children enjoyed sensory play, floating and sinking investigations, sushi making, scavenger hunts and role play activities while learning new vocabulary linked to sea animals and underwater habitats.

It has been a fantastic topic for creativity, collaboration and discovery beneath the waves! 🌊🦀🪸

🍊🍉 “Let It Grow” 🍍🍋

This week our Buttercups nursery children explored the wonderful world of fruit through hands-on learning, sensory play, and creative experiences! 🌱

From squeezing fresh oranges to make juice, to carefully chopping fruit for healthy fruit salads, the children strengthened their fine motor skills while learning about healthy eating and self-care. They also explored different textures, smells, and tastes — discovering that limes can be VERY sour! 😆

Sensory exploration continued through lemon and lime water play, counting watermelon “seeds,” and making playdough strawberries to support early maths development. The children also expressed their creativity by using orange peel for print painting and bubble wrap to create textured pineapple artwork. 🎨

Every experience was thoughtfully designed to encourage curiosity, independence, communication, sensory exploration, creativity, and early cognitive development — all through meaningful play-based learning.

What a fun and fruitful week we’ve had! 💛
