Chuo Law School (CLS) will host a summer program titled “Introduction to Japanese Law in English” this summer.
This one-week program will focus on the basic structure of Japan’s legal system and legal culture, and some specific topics in Japanese law. All lectures will be provided in English by professors at CLS and are open to law students from around the world. The program also includes optional study visits to a law firm, a court, and a museum.

No academic credit is offered for this program; however, those who complete the course will be eligible to receive a certificate of participation.

The Academy’s Winter Courses, introduced in 2019 and held at the Peace Palace, form one of the pillars of its academic activity. Like the Summer Courses, they offer in-depth instruction in both Public and Private International Law, but are delivered in a single three-week session. These courses are intended for students and practitioners who already possess a solid foundation in international law and wish to deepen their understanding of the discipline.

Each Winter Courses session includes a General Course that spans the full three weeks, alongside Special Courses lasting one week each, covering six distinct topics in total. The programme also features afternoon seminars and guest lectures. All courses and lectures are delivered by renowned academics, practitioners, and diplomats from prestigious institutions around the world. The courses are conducted in either English or French, with simultaneous interpretation into the other language.

Since opening its doors in 1923, the Academy’s Summer Courses have welcomed thousands of participants from over 100 nationalities. Since 2019, participants have also had the opportunity to attend the Winter Courses. Over the years, many alumni – having engaged with leading figures in international law – have gone on to become distinguished academics, legal practitioners, diplomats, and professionals in related fields.

After being delivered, the courses are published in the Collected Courses book series, which now includes more than 450 volumes. This prestigious collection ranks among the most important encyclopaedic publications in the field of public and private international law.

The Faculty of Law, Thammasat University, and the University of Melbourne have officially signed an 𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.. This agreement aims to expand educational opportunities and provide additional study pathways for students, beyond the existing 3+1 program, as follows:

คณะนิติศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ และ University of Melbourne ประเทศออสเตรเลีย ลงนามบันทึกข้อตกลงทางวิชาการ (Addendum to the Inbound Dual Degree Agreement) เพื่อขยายโอกาสทางการศึกษาให้แก่นักศึกษาเพิ่มเติมจากโครงการ 3+1 โดยมีรายละเอียดโครงการส่วนขยาย ดังนี้:

1. JD Pathway Program: ศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี (LL.B.) ณ คณะนิติศาสตร์ เป็นระยะเวลา 3 ปี และไปศึกษาต่อในระดับ Juris Doctor (JD) ณ University of Melbourne อีก 3 ปี
2. Dual Degree LL.M. Program: โครงการปริญญาโทคู่
3. Single Subject Study: ศึกษารายวิชาเดี่ยวแบบออนไลน์เพื่อสะสมหน่วยกิตและเพิ่มโอกาสในการเข้าศึกษาต่อ ณ University of Melbourne ในอนาคต

The Faculty of Law, Thammasat University, and the University of Melbourne have officially signed an Addendum to the Inbound Dual Degree Agreement. This agreement aims to expand educational opportunities and provide additional study pathways for students, beyond the existing 3+1 program, as follows:

1. JD Pathway Program: Students complete 3 years of the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) program at Thammasat and proceed to study the Juris Doctor (JD) program at Melbourne for an additional 3 years.
2. Dual Degree LL.M. Program: A dual master's degree program to receive 2 master's degrees from both institutions.
3. Single Subject Study: An opportunity to study individual subjects online with Melbourne to earn credits and enhance future study prospects with Melbourne.
