✨The first-ever Vocabulary Log book at BASIS International School Bangkok just launched—and it features cover and back cover art by two of my talented middle school students!✨

Being invited to contribute student artwork to this new initiative was such a meaningful experience. For our young artists, seeing their creations printed on a resource used by their peers across campus is a moment of real-world recognition—and that matters.

When students see their work on school materials, it:
🎨 Validates their creativity and effort
📚 Builds pride and a sense of ownership
🌱 Boosts confidence through public recognition
💬 Reinforces the message that their voice and vision belong here

This is what it looks like when we center student expression in school culture.
Proud of these artists and excited for what’s ahead! 💙

I don’t create often, and for a long time, that’s been my biggest insecurity. I’d compare myself to full-time artists and question if I was really an artist at all.

But here’s the truth: I am an artist. I’m also a teacher, a designer, a lover of color, and someone who shows up for the people who matter most to me.

Right now, my art lives in my sketchbook — and that’s okay. I used to believe that if I wasn’t making big pieces on canvas, it didn’t count. I’d never say that to a friend, but I said it to myself all the time.

So this is me choosing to be kinder to myself. Art doesn’t have to be big to be real. It just has to be honest.

If you’re in the same boat, I see you. We’re artists. Full stop.

’m Dash Swani—an artist, educator, workshop facilitator, and bespoke events curator. My workshops are about more than just making art—they’re about letting go of perfection, embracing the process, and reconnecting with the present moment.

For years, I struggled with being present. Art helped me find my way back. Now, I share that experience with others, creating spaces where people can explore, create, and trust themselves more.

If you’ve ever wanted to create but didn’t know where to start—this is your sign. Start here. 🎨✨
