เล่น (lên) usually means to play, but in this grammar pattern, it has a different function.
verb+ เล่น/lên
In these combinations, “เล่น” does not mean to play.
Instead, it adds a casual or playful tone to the verb.
สถานี/ sathǎanii / station. Example: สถานีรถไฟอยู่ห่างจากบ้านของฉันแค่ 10 นาที / sathǎaniirótfay yùu hàaŋ càak bâan khɔ̌ɔŋ chán khæ̂æ sìp naathii / The train station in only 10 minutes away from my house. 🚃
รสชาติ / rótchâat / taste example: ขนมนี้มีรสชาติหวานมาก / khanǒm níi mii rótchâat wǎan mâak / This dessert has a very sweet taste.
