🇹🇭 Thai Humor: “Still Not Ready to Go Back to Work”

In Thai culture, people often joke about not wanting to return to work after a long holiday.
This kind of joke is very common after New Year, long weekends, or festivals.

Instead of complaining seriously, Thai people usually tease themselves in a light, funny way.

For example, when someone says:
“It’s a new year, but my heart still wants a long holiday.”

They don’t mean they will actually quit their job.
They are just expressing laziness, tiredness, or low motivation in a humorous way.

In many cultures, saying “I don’t want to work” may sound rude or unprofessional. But in Thai culture, saying it jokingly is normal and socially acceptable, especially: among friends, on social media or on the first day back at work.
It shows you are human, relaxed, and easy-going.
