What happens when the most dangerous part of a fire develops out of sight?
In a new Bangkok Post op-ed, Prof. Emeritus Dr. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Founding Executive Director of AITSPIN, examines the possible fire dynamics behind the deadly blaze at Rong Beer Na Ladprao.
Drawing on preliminary inspection findings, witness accounts, photographs, and video evidence, Professor Worsak explores how heat, smoke, toxic gases, and combustible vapours may have accumulated inside the concealed ceiling space before rapidly entering the occupied hall.
His analysis also points to a wider public-safety lesson: fire inspections must go beyond visible extinguishers, exit signs, and doors to examine concealed electrical systems, insulation, ceiling cavities, service shafts, and fire-stopping measures.
He concludes with a stark warning:
“The deadliest part of this fire may have developed out of sight. Our system of prevention must learn to look where the public cannot.”

AI initiatives rarely fail because of the technology itself. More often, they fail because of misalignment between business reality and the way the technology is implemented.
In this AITSPIN Professional Intelligence Master’s Series session, technology and management leader Viney Hora explains why successful AI adoption must be grounded in clarity on business outcomes, clean and reliable data, and aligned teams.
The central message is simple:
Technology does not fail; misalignment does. And not every problem requires AI.
