BRESC youths from 24 countries just wrapped up an inspiring 2-day Learning Journey in the beautiful city of Hangzhou! 🇨🇳💫
🤖 Nov 14: Explored the future of technology at Sci-Tech City and BrainCo, then stepped back 5,000 years into history at the Liangzhu Ancient City.
🏞️ Nov 15: Immersed in the scenic beauty of West Lake and the traditional charm of Hefang Street — building lasting friendships and unforgettable memories across cultures. 🌸
The participants not only came to Hangzhou to compete in the 7th Belt and Road Youth English Speaking Competition – Global Finals, but also experienced the city’s vibrant blend of innovation and tradition through industrial visits, cultural exploration, and international exchange.

MicUp! Regional Finals Thailand 2025 – A Celebration of Young Voices
We captured the memorable moments of the Mic Up! Regional Finals Thailand 2025 English Speaking Competition, held on Saturday, 30 August 2025 at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok.
Now in its third year, MicUp! has established itself as a premier stage for young talents to showcase their English communication skills. Organized in conjunction with the prestigious 21st Century Cup English Speaking Competition, also known as the 7th Belt and Road Youth English Speaking Competition (Southeast Asian Region), this year’s regional finals brought together outstanding students from across Southeast Asia.
The competition was graced by H.E. Khunying Kalaya Sophonpanich, Ph.D., Former Minister of Science and Technology and Former Deputy Minister of Education of Thailand, who joined as Guest of Honour. Among the VIPs were Mr. Argus Ang, CEO of The RVi Group; Mdm Gloria Huang, Managing Director of MTO; and Ms. Amy Tan, Deputy General Manager of China Daily Asia Pacific, representing our international partners. Special guests such as Mr. Robert Chua, Former Singapore Ambassador to Myanmar, and Mdm Hisayo Yoshida further added distinction to the occasion.
The judging panel brought together international expertise with Mr. Trent Nelson from Canada, Director of Studies at Edulink Myanmar; Ms. Luo Ying from China, Representative of the 21st Century Cup and Second Runner-up of the 26th “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition; Ms. Rynn Song from Hong Kong, Deputy Director of VDO English; Mr. Darren Royston from the UK; and Associate Professor Chalatip Chanchairerk from Thailand, a leading academic in English Language Teaching at Chulalongkorn University. Guiding the flow of the competition was the Question Master, Mr. Melvyn Chung from Singapore, Principal of Singapore International School, RVi Yangon.
We extend our warmest congratulations to the winners, Nan Suriya Khattiya from Myanmar, Junior Category Champion, and Thanh Theerapasiri from Thailand, Youth Category Champion, who impressed the judges with their eloquence, critical thinking, and confident stage presence, standing out among an exceptionally talented field of contestants.
Beyond being a competition, MicUp! 2025 underscored the transformative power of public speaking in empowering youth. It provided a vibrant platform for participants to share ideas, demonstrate critical thinking, and connect with peers across cultures. Organizers emphasized that MicUp! has grown into a regional hub for nurturing young communicators, preparing the next generation for leadership in an interconnected world.

We are delighted to share that the MicUp! English Speaking Competition 2025 Regional Finals was successfully accomplished on Saturday, 30 August 2025, at Duangduean Phisanbut Hall, Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. 🎤🌍
The competition, held on Saturday, 30 August 2025 in Bangkok, was honoured by H.E. Khunying Kalaya Sophonpanich, Ph.D., Former Minister of Science and Technology and Former Deputy Minister of Education of Thailand, who graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.
