🎷CC has started practicing and studying the structure of Ballade for Alto Saxophone and Piano by Henri Tomasi, a well-known piece for saxophone. Written in 1938, the music was inspired by a poem about a sad clown, showing emotions between happiness and sadness.

The piece has many different moods, from soft and beautiful melodies to powerful, dance-like sections, showing the expressive sound and emotion of the saxophone.

The piece was first premiered in 1939 by the legendary saxophonist Marcel Mule.

🎷Even though we’re far apart between China and Bangkok, we’re still able to enjoy our saxophone lessons together. Yesterday’s class was fun and full of great ideas about musical direction. We imagine the sound, then bring it to life straight away on the saxophone. Well done, Harriet! Keep it up 😃
