𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟕 – 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬! 🌿🔥

Today, our little explorers discovered how fire was made then and now, created sparks with flint and steel, and made delicious campfire banana boats with chocolate and marshmallows! 🍌🍫🔥

Through these hands-on experiences, children developed curiosity, problem-solving skills, confidence and an understanding of cause and effect, while learning how to stay safe around fire.

We finished with a fun fire safety sorting game—learning, exploring and enjoying the magic of the campfire! 🏕️

🪰 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐞 𝐚 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩

𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟓 – 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐫 🔎🦋

Today our little explorers discovered 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 and learnt which ones can be dangerous, which can be annoying, and which are helpful to nature. 🌿

They also discovered the 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐡𝐚𝐭, designed with dangling corks that help keep flies and insects away from the face, and created their own explorer hats!

🔦 Next, we transformed the room into a 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲. Children explored insects on the light table, traced their shapes and details, experimented with 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐬, and listened carefully to different insect sounds to guess which insect they could hear.

A day full of 𝐨𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲! 🐞🔍✨

Day 4: Snakes in the Forest! 🌿🐍

Today, our young forest explorers ventured into the fascinating world of snakes! 🌳 They learned about venomous and non-venomous snakes, explored the school grounds in search of hidden snake cards, sorted their discoveries, and practised four important safety steps: STOP • STAY CALM • MOVE AWAY • TELL AN ADULT.

To end the day, our explorers became snake makers, creating their own unique snakes using wooden pieces, wool, beads and natural materials. 🐍✨

A wonderful day of exploring, discovering, learning and creating in the forest! 🌿🧭

🌿 How to Be a World Explorer Summer Camp
Day 3 – Forest Food Explorer 🔎

On the 3rd day of our camp, our little explorers became Forest Food Detectives! They learnt that not everything found in the forest is safe to eat and that good explorers observe first and ask before eating.

Children searched for natural treasures, examined their discoveries under a microscope, and attached the natural materials they found to their own Forest Explorer Journals. 📔🌱

A day full of curiosity, careful observation, scientific thinking and real-world exploration! 🌿🔬

Two exciting days of exploring, creating and discovering! Our little explorers learned about wild animals and rainforests, made their own explorer vests and name necklaces, tackled a crocodile adventure, and became map makers and treasure hunters!

Two days down… many more adventures to go! 🌿🧭✨

Inspired by How to Be a World Explorer by Lonely Planet, our 9-day adventure camp is designed for children who love to wonder, discover and learn through hands-on experiences.

At Soi International Preschool, we believe children learn best by doing. Throughout the camp, young explorers will investigate nature, solve real-world challenges, create, build and discover the world around them through meaningful play and outdoor adventures.

Every experience is thoughtfully designed using the EYFS framework, the Reggio Emilia approach and child development principles.

More than just a holiday programme, this is an opportunity for children to build confidence, curiosity, creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills while making unforgettable memories.

🌡️☀️𝐇𝐨𝐭 𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭? 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞

Curiosity led the way as our little explorers searched for objects made of metal, wood, plastic, and foam.

After sorting their discoveries, they put each material to the test under the sun to see which would heat up the most.

Through observation they discovered that metal was the hottest—science has never been so much fun!
