👨‍🏫 About the Speaker
Prof. Richard M. Laine is Professor of Materials Science and Engineering and Macromolecular Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Southern California and his B.S. in Chemistry from California State University, Northridge. His research focuses on green chemistry, sustainable materials, nanostructured composites, ceramic processing, and energy-related materials. Prof. Laine has authored more than 300 scientific publications, holds 45 patents, and has received numerous awards recognizing his outstanding contributions to research and education.

We warmly welcome faculty members, researchers, graduate students, undergraduate students, and anyone interested in materials science, chemical engineering, and energy storage technologies to join this seminar.

During the seminar, Dr. Pal shared valuable insights into the modern scholarly publishing ecosystem, covering editorial perspectives on manuscript preparation, the peer review process, publication ethics, open science, and the emerging role of artificial intelligence in academic publishing. Participants also gained a deeper understanding of what editors and reviewers look for, along with practical strategies to improve the quality and impact of their research publications.

The Department sincerely thanks Dr. Pal for his engaging presentation and insightful discussions. We also extend our appreciation to all faculty members, researchers, and students who participated and contributed to the lively exchange of ideas.

🌱 นอกเหนือจากการประชุมและกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ช่วงเวลาที่มีคุณค่าที่สุดคือการได้พูดคุย รับฟัง และสร้างความเข้าใจร่วมกัน ซึ่งเป็นรากฐานสำคัญของการพัฒนาภาควิชาให้ก้าวไปข้างหน้าอย่างเข้มแข็ง

✨ 20-22 July 2026: Department of Chemical Engineering Seminar 1/2026: A Meaningful Journey Comes to an End ✨

📅 Over the past three days, faculty members and staff came together to reflect on our achievements, exchange ideas, and discuss the future direction of the Department of Chemical Engineering. The seminar provided a valuable opportunity for thoughtful discussions, meaningful collaboration 🤝, and strengthening the bonds that make our department a vibrant academic community.

🌱 Beyond the sessions and activities, the most valuable outcome was the opportunity to listen to one another, share perspectives, and reaffirm our shared commitment to advancing the department together. These conversations will continue to inspire our work in education, research, and service for years to come.

💐 A special highlight of this year's seminar was the retirement celebration honoring three respected members of our department: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tharathon Mongkhonsi, Prof. Dr. Tawatchai Charinpanitkul, and Mr. Patinya Od-iam. We extend our deepest gratitude for their many years of dedication, leadership, and invaluable contributions to the Department of Chemical Engineering. Their legacy has shaped our department in countless ways, and we wish them good health, happiness, and every success in this exciting new chapter of life.

เมื่อวันที่ 16 กรกฎาคม 2569 ที่ผ่านมา รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.อภินันท์ สุทธิธารธวัช ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์ BCGeTEC ภาควิชาวิศวกรรมเคมี คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย พร้อมด้วยคณะนักวิจัย คณาจารย์ และนิสิตแลกเปลี่ยนจากต่างประเทศ ภายใต้โครงการ Reinventing University Program ได้เข้าเยี่ยมชมและศึกษาดูงาน ณ สถาบันเค อะโกร-อินโนเวท (KAI) ภายใต้มูลนิธิกสิกรไทย ในโอกาสนี้ ทางคณะได้รับเกียรติอย่างยิ่งจาก ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.รัชนีภรณ์ อิ่นคำ ผู้อำนวยการร่วมศูนย์วนเกษตร-พฤกษเภสัช (PAD : Pharma-Agroforestry District) ให้การต้อนรับอย่างอบอุ่น พร้อมนำชมพื้นที่และร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ในส่วนต่าง ๆ ได้แก่:

💬 During the visit, we had a productive discussion on the possibility of establishing a Double Doctoral Degree Program between our two departments. The conversation explored opportunities for:

Since joining Wiley in 2019, he has worked with several prestigious journals, including Angewandte Chemie, Chemistry – An Asian Journal, and ChemPhysChem. He actively contributes to journal development, author workshops, conference outreach, and publishing webinars. Dr. Pal received his Ph.D. in Physics from Michigan Technological University (USA) and completed postdoctoral research at Northwestern University and Penn State University.
