The Change in World Leadership
--------------------------------------

In the past, many famous world leaders were known for their **soft skills**. Leaders like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton used communication, kindness, and teamwork to lead. However, today, the world is changing. These types of leaders seem to be losing their power.

There are a few reasons for this change. First, many people feel unsafe because of high prices and a lack of jobs. When people are worried, they often choose "strong" or "tough" leaders who promise quick actions instead of long discussions. Second, social media makes people more angry and divided. It is easier to get likes by attacking others than by trying to understand them.
So, when will the world balance change back? History moves like a circle. When tough leaders fail to solve big problems or start conflicts, people begin to miss peace and cooperation. We might see a change in the next five to ten years.

Young people today, like Gen Z,care more about the environment and human rights. They value listening and working together. Also, as technology and AI grow, we will need leaders who are truly "human" and can bring people together. Soft skills are not gone; they are just waiting for the right time to return.

Merry Christmas! Since today is actually December 25th, it is the perfect time to look at why this day is so special.

The Joy of Christmas

Christmas is one of the most famous festivals in the world, celebrated every year on December 25th. Originally, it began as a religious holiday to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. However, nowadays, it is a joyful season for people of many different cultures and religions to come together.

During this season, towns and homes are filled with colorful lights and decorations. The most iconic symbol is the Christmas tree, decorated with ornaments, stars, and tiny lamps. Families usually gather together to exchange gifts and sing Christmas carols. Children are especially excited because they wait for Santa Claus to bring them presents.

Food is a huge part of the celebration. In many countries, families prepare a big feast. Common dishes include:
Roast turkey or chicken
Mashed potatoes,
Christmas pudding or fruitcake,
Gingerbread cookies.

People often host "Open House" parties where they invite friends and neighbors. They serve warm drinks like hot chocolate and share sweets to show love and kindness.

The true beauty of Christmas is the feeling of happiness and peace. It is a time for forgiveness and helping those in need. People feel more generous, often donating food or clothes to charity. It is a season that reminds us that being with our loved ones is the greatest gift of all.

Kayin New Year: A Celebration of Unity and Harvest

Kayin New Year is one of the most important and colorful festivals in Myanmar. It usually falls in December or January, marking the end of the harvest season. For the Kayin people, it is a time to give thanks for the crops and welcome the new year with joy.
The celebration starts early in the morning with a formal ceremony. People gather to hoist the Kayin national flag, which features a drum and a rising sun. Many Kayin people wear their traditional clothes: bright red and white tunics for men, and beautiful hand-woven sarongs for women.
One of the most exciting parts of the day is the Don Dance. This is a traditional group dance where performers move in perfect harmony to the sound of drums and gongs. It represents unity and the strength of the Kayin community.
Food plays a big role in the festivities. Families prepare traditional dishes like Kauk Hnyin Hpoke (sticky rice) and share them with neighbors and visitors. It is a day of hospitality where everyone is welcome, regardless of their background.
In the evening, there are often singing competitions and speeches about Kayin history. The festival helps young people learn about their culture and keeps their traditions alive. It is a beautiful day that brings people together in peace and friendship.

Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT):

Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) is a modern test for embryos made through IVF (In Vitro Fertilization). Before putting an embryo into the mother's womb, doctors can use PGT to check for serious problems. This is an important step to help families have a healthy baby.
There are different types of PGT. For example, PGT-A checks if the embryo has the correct number of chromosomes. If the embryo has a genetic disease, like a serious type of anemia, doctors use PGT-M to check for that specific gene problem.
PGT can be quite expensive. The test alone can cost $4,000 to $10,000 USD, and this is an extra cost on top of the main IVF treatment. However, the good news is that PGT helps a lot. When doctors choose a healthy embryo using PGT, the chance of a successful birth can be high, around 57% to 70%. It also helps to lower the risk of a miscarriage.
While PGT is very helpful, some people worry about the ethics. The test may show that some embryos are not healthy and must be discarded. Still, PGT remains a powerful tool for people trying to have children safely.

The Dark Secret of June 15th

Yu Menglong was a bright, popular Chinese star whose life ended too soon in a tragic fall. While the police closed the case as an accident, the public whispers a much stranger theory. This mystery begins with a peculiar date: June 15th, 1988—Yu Menglong’s birthday.
This exact date is also the birthday of China’s most powerful person, President Xi Jinping (born June 15th, 1953). In old, secret scrolls of black magic, it is said that such a powerful, "auspicious" date cannot support two major public figures, or "stars." The younger star must be removed for the older star to keep his full, cosmic power.
The joke among those who believe in magic is that the President did not use guns or politics. Instead, he used a dark spell! He grew tired of sharing the cosmic energy of his lucky day. A powerful, unseen force was supposedly hired to perform a ritual, like a "calendar cleansing." The black magic's purpose was to make June 15th belong only to the older man again.
Did Yu Menglong's sad, sudden death really result from a simple slip? Or was it the successful result of a powerful, shadowy ritual—a strange, magical battle over the same important birthday? The official story is simple, but the secret of June 15th remains dark and intriguing.

Good oral health is much more important than just having a nice smile. New research shows a surprising link between how clean your mouth is and the risk of developing a serious disease: pancreatic cancer.
When people do not keep their teeth and gums clean, harmful bacteria and fungi can grow easily in the mouth. Scientists have found that when these bad germs multiply, the chance of getting pancreatic cancer increases by a significant amount. According to a study reported by NYU Langone News in 2025, this risk is 3.5 times higher for people with poor oral hygiene.
This news reminds us that simple, daily habits are critical for whole-body health. Brushing and flossing every day is a small action, but it can help protect you from much bigger health problems.

Nature's True Calendar
It has been raining for a long time in my town, all day and all night. We are all stuck inside the house. Some people say this is the last rain of the season, and after it stops, the weather will be cold. Others say that nature has changed, and we cannot know the seasons anymore.
I believe that people's minds have changed, but nature is still the same. Our grandparents knew how to read the world around them. They did not need modern tools. They looked at the stars to find their way when they travelled, and they watched animals and plants to predict the weather or even danger. These were simple, natural ways, and they were often correct.
We sometimes forget this old knowledge. We think we need special equipment to know what is coming, but nature is always showing us the way. For example, in my home region, we watch the field prawns. When the prawns seal their holes, it is a clear sign that the rainy season is ending, and the winter is beginning. If the prawns do not seal their holes, the rain is not over yet.
The natural world—humans, animals, trees, and water—works together as one system. Nature still guides us clearly if we stop, look, and remember the simple lessons our grandparents taught us.

People Power: Planning a Strong Population for a Strong Economy
A country’s economy needs a smart population plan. This plan is about making sure the nation has the right number of people who are both healthy and skilled. A thoughtful strategy helps the country grow its wealth and become stronger for the future.
The first step in good planning is ensuring basic health for all. Good healthcare is essential. When people are healthy, they are able to work efficiently and study without interruption. Also, good nutrition is necessary, especially for children, because it helps them develop strongly. These healthy workers are the most productive part of the economy.
The second key part is education. A strong education system creates a skilled workforce. People with good skills can do high-value jobs in technology and business. This large group of young, skilled workers is an "economic advantage." If a nation fails to educate its young people, this advantage can become an economic burden instead.
In summary, building a strong national economy relies on two main investments: health and education. By focusing on these factors, a country prepares a future generation that will successfully drive growth and development for many years.

The history of Diwali

Diwali is an important festival. It is often called the Festival of Lights. People celebrate it all around the world, usually in the autumn. It shows that good wins over bad.
The most famous story is about Lord Rama. He was a prince who had to leave his kingdom for 14 years. He fought and beat the bad king, Ravana. When Rama, his wife Sita, and his brother returned home, the people of Ayodhya were very happy. They lit thousands of small clay lamps called diyas. The light from the diyas showed them the way home.
Diwali is not just about Rama. It is also a time to honor the goddess Lakshmi. She is the goddess of wealth and good fortune. People clean their homes to welcome her. They also pray to Ganesha, the god of new beginnings. For many, Diwali marks the start of a new Hindu year.
Diwali is a festival full of light, joy, and hope. It reminds everyone to share happiness and look forward to a bright future.

Thadingyut: The Festival of Lights

The Thadingyut Full Moon Day is a very special day for people who follow Buddhism. It is considered one of the most sacred days, just like the Full Moon Days of Kason and Waso.
This special day marks the time when the Lord Buddha returned to the human world from the Tavatimsa celestial (heavenly) realm. The Buddha had spent three months of the Buddhist Lent (Vassa) in Tavatimsa to preach the Abhidhamma (higher teachings) to his former mother, who was reborn there as a celestial being. This is why Thadingyut is also called Abhidhamma Day.
To honor the Buddha's descent, people celebrate with a Festival of Lights. They light many lamps, candles, and colorful lights. This tradition remembers the light that shone when the Buddha came down to earth on a staircase made of gems, with a golden stairway for celestial beings (devas) and a silver stairway for Brahmas (high-ranking gods) beside him. When people saw this beautiful sight, almost everyone wished to become a Buddha one day. Because of this, the day is also called the Day of Vowing to be a Buddha.
The end of the Vassa is also important for Buddhist monks. It is the day they are free to travel again, as they must stay in one place during the three months of Vassa. They also perform a special ceremony called Pavarana.
The Thadingyut Full Moon Day is truly a holy day filled with many good meanings. It celebrates the end of the Buddhist Lent, the successful completion of the Buddha's deep teaching, and the wonderful moment of his return to the world.

The Mysterious Doomsday Fish: Fact and Myth
The Oarfish, also known as the "Doomsday Fish," is a very strange and long sea creature. It lives deep in the ocean, sometimes reaching lengths of up to 36 feet. Because it lives so deep, people rarely see it. When it does come to the surface, it causes great alarm.
In Japanese legend, the Oarfish is called the "Messenger from the Sea God's Palace." This comes from an old belief that the fish only appears before big natural disasters, such as a tsunami or a large earthquake. People fear it because they see it as a warning sign. For example, many Oarfish were found before the big 2011 earthquake in Japan, which made the myth even stronger.
However, scientists say there is no clear proof that the fish can predict earthquakes. They believe the fish come to the surface because they are sick, dying, or confused by strong ocean currents or changes in water temperature.
The recent reports of the fish appearing four times in 20 days are very unusual. While many people worry it means a disaster is coming, scientists are more interested in what this rare event tells us about the health and changes of the deep ocean environment.
