Our Secondary students stepped into a world of imagination, curiosity and creativity last Friday with their performance of Alice in Wonderland.
Performed by our Year 7 to 9 students, the show was shared with children from our sister schools, Kids Academy, before taking to the stage again for parents, teachers and fellow students.
From confident characterisation to teamwork behind the scenes, this production was a wonderful celebration of student voice, creativity and courage. We are so proud of every student who helped bring the story to life on stage.
A huge well done to our performers and a special thank you to our Drama teacher, Ms. Pearl, along with all staff involved, for guiding and supporting our students throughout the production.

This week, students in Year 4 and above officially began Restaurant Wars.
Working in teams, they are starting with the foundations of any successful restaurant concept: research. From exploring food ideas and menu options to considering pricing, customer experience and food hygiene, our students are beginning to understand what it really takes to design, launch and run a restaurant.
This is more than a classroom project. It is live, purposeful learning that brings together creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking and real-world problem solving.
Over the coming weeks, our students will continue developing their ideas from concept to final outcome, leading up to our Restaurant Wars Live Learning Showcase on 26th June, where their restaurants will come to life.

Our Year 3 students had a night to remember at their sleepover last Friday.
From outdoor games and creative arts and crafts to a pizza party, karaoke and a cosy movie night, it was an evening full of laughter, friendship and excitement.
For many of our students, staying overnight at school was a new and exciting experience. It was lovely to see them building independence, supporting one another and making memories together as part of the Astra community.
A special thank you to our teachers and staff who made the evening so enjoyable and meaningful for our students.

"The purpose of education is no longer the transmission of information. It is the cultivation of human intelligence." ✨
— Richard Davidson, Head of School
A powerful moment from Friday's address — and the heartbeat of everything we do at Astra Academy International School.
We are raising thinkers. Creators. Questioners. Humans ready for a world that hasn't been built yet. 🌱

Creativity was in full force in our art rooms this week. 🎨
Our Year 2 students discovered the art of hand-building with clay, shaping, sanding and painting their own creations using the pinch pot technique. Each piece is a reflection of their imagination, patience and growing confidence as young artists.
Meanwhile, our Year 6 students dove into the bold and vibrant world of Pop Art, taking inspiration from its iconic colours and playful energy to design and create their very own papier-mâché shoes. The creativity, originality and teamwork on display was truly something to see.
At Astra, art is more than making things. It is a space where students discover who they are and find their own voice. 🌟
