You can know all the grammar rules and still struggle to have a natural conversation with Thai people.

How to speak like a native?
We don't say:
-ผมเสร็จแล้วทำงาน
(Phŏm sèt láaew tham ngaan )
We say:
- ผมทำงานเสร็จแล้ว
(phŏm tham ngaan sèt láaew)
I have finished my work.
We don't say:
- ขนมนี้นิดหน่อยหวาน
(khà-nŏm née nít nòi wăan)
We say:
- ขนมนี้หวานนิดหน่อย
(khà-nŏm née wăan nít nòi)
This dessert is a little sweet.
We don't say:
- ผมมีหลายเพื่อน
(phŏm mee lăai phuuêan)
We say:
- ผมมีเพื่อนหลายคน
(phŏm mee phuuêan lăai khon)
I have many friends
We don't say:
- ผมชอบมากอาหารไทย
(phŏm chôp mâak aa-hăan thai)
We say:
- ผมชอบอาหารไทยมาก
(phŏm chôp aa-hăan thai mâak)

We don't say:
- ผมทุกวันไปยิม

"ว่า"(wâa) means "to say or to scold"
"ว่า"(wâa) usually follows verbs of saying, asking or knowing and it is translated as "that", "whether" or "not translated at all"
1. พูดว่า/บอกว่า (phôot wâa / bòk wâa)
To say that
2. รู้ว่า (róo wâa )
To know that
3. ได้ยินว่า (dâai yin wâa)
To hear that
4. ฝันว่า (făn wâa)
To dream that
5. เข้าใจว่า (khâo jai wâa)
