🇯🇵 เกร็ดภาษาญี่ปุ่น
ทำไม “ร้านขายผัก” ถึงเรียกว่า やおや (八百屋)?

หลายคนรู้ว่า

🌱 やさい（野菜） = ผัก

แต่เคยสงสัยไหมว่า…

🏪 ทำไมร้านขายผักถึงเรียกว่า 「やおや（八百屋）」?

ทั้งที่ 八百（やお） แปลตรงตัวว่า “800”

📖 คำตอบคือ…

ในภาษาญี่ปุ่นสมัยโบราณ 「八百」 ไม่ได้หมายถึงเลข 800 เพียงอย่างเดียว แต่ยังใช้ในความหมายว่า

“มากมาย” หรือ “นับไม่ถ้วน”

จึงนำมาใช้เรียกร้านที่มีผักและผลไม้ให้เลือกหลากหลายชนิด

八百屋（やおや）
= ร้านที่มีผักและผลไม้มากมาย
= ร้านขายผักและผลไม้

คำนี้จึงกลายเป็นชื่อเรียกที่ใช้สืบต่อมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน

🥬 やさい（野菜） = ผัก

🏪 やおや（八百屋） = ร้านขายผักและผลไม้

💡 เกร็ดน่ารู้
ในภาษาญี่ปุ่น เลข 八百 มักใช้สื่อความหมายว่า “จำนวนมาก” เช่นเดียวกับคำว่า 八百万（やおよろず） ที่แปลว่า “นับไม่ถ้วน”

📌 ภาษาญี่ปุ่นไม่ได้มีแค่คำศัพท์ แต่ยังซ่อนประวัติศาสตร์และวัฒนธรรมไว้ในคำแต่ละคำเสมอ การรู้ที่มาของคำจะช่วยให้จำได้ง่ายและเข้าใจภาษาญี่ปุ่นลึกยิ่งขึ้น 🇯🇵
