Mock exams are coming up in my school so it’s time for my students to go on the website and pick from the ‘Practise Listening’ section the topics they know they need to brush up on. For most of them (IGCSE and Ab initio students), tenses are also still an issue so I recommend completing the ‘Listen to Speak’ activity on Holidays and the song ‘La Chanson des Temps’ under ‘Sing the Gram’. After joking about it with my IGCSE students in class the other day, I thought I would give this a go and see if it has any positive impact on students' learning. I've written a simple song about French verbs and tenses and created an accompanying worksheet. It'll all on Youtube and the website, in the new section called: Sing the Gram'. I've just uploaded a new song resource with a gapfill and questions at the end. This week I rediscovered 'Marly-Gomont' and straight away I realised it is an absolutely fabulous song for French language learners!
