"Engage," "Practice," and "Application," broken down into subsets. These are the basics which we often skip or rush, but which are critical for making the students comfortable with using English for communicative purposes.

Best practices for teaching speaking to A2 to B2 level EFL students. This is the basics for integrated communicative teaching-learning. The emphasis is always on what the students will do, rather than what the teacher does BUT the teacher has to act to get things going....context setting and modeling lexis. More on this later.

More on the practice of teaching listening. You may note that this is an integrated communicative skills approach - e.g. listening activity is combined with speaking, reading and writing, and, the practices are aimed at communication.

Teaching Listening Part 1. Aims to introduce techiques and technemes (See Stevick & Larsen-Freeman) for teaching listening. Low tech and certainly doesn't cover everything, but might be a starter for those teaching English to speakers of other languages in non-English speaking contexts.
