📍Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University Holds the Opening Ceremony for the Academic Year 2026

🗓️ On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University organized the Opening Ceremony for the Academic Year 2026 at the MCU 48th Anniversary Building, Wang Noi District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The ceremony was presided over by Most Venerable Prof. Dr. Phra Brahmapundit, Vice President of the University Council. The program aimed to promote education and develop the potential of new students, preparing them for their academic journey, which will ultimately lead to sustainable development.

📝During the event, significant activities included the presentation of scholarships, the student pledge ceremony, and a special lecture on "The Smart Student's Guide in the AI Era: Adapting, Managing Time, and Shaping the Future with Wisdom" delivered by Most Ven. Prof. Dr. Phra Brahmawatcharatheeracharn, Rector of the University. These activities were designed to exchange knowledge, propagate Buddhism, and integrate Dhamma principles with modern technology at the national and international levels.

📝In this regard, Dr. Phramaha Somchai Kittipanyo, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Humanities, led the executives, faculty members, and staff of the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Humanities, to participate in the event. This participation aimed to support and build cooperation for the continuous development of the university.

🗓️วันที่ ๒๓ มิถุนายน พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๙ มหาวิทยาลัยมหาจุฬาลงกรณราชวิทยาลัย จัดพิธีเปิดการศึกษา ประจำปีการศึกษา ๒๕๖๙ ณ อาคาร มวก. ๔๘ พรรษา อำเภอวังน้อย จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา โดยมี พระพรหมบัณฑิต, ศ.ดร. อุปนายกสภามหาวิทยาลัย เป็นประธานในพิธี ทั้งนี้ กิจกรรมดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นเพื่อส่งเสริมการศึกษาและเพื่อพัฒนาศักยภาพของนิสิตใหม่ให้มีความพร้อมในการเรียนรู้ อันจะนำไปสู่การพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน

📝กิจกรรมภายในงานประกอบด้วย พิธีมอบทุนการศึกษา การกล่าวคำปฏิญาณตนของนิสิต และการบรรยายพิเศษเรื่อง "วิถีผู้ฉลาดในโลก AI : ปรับตัว บริหารเวลา เตรียมคุณค่าสู่อนาคตด้วยหลักคิดทางธรรม" โดย พระพรหมวัชรธีราจารย์, ศ.ดร. อธิการบดี เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ และเพื่อเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนา ตลอดจนประยุกต์ใช้หลักธรรมกับเทคโนโลยีสมัยใหม่ในระดับชาติและนานาชาติ

📝ในการนี้ พระมหาสมชาย กิตฺติปญฺโญ, ดร. หัวหน้าภาควิชาภาษาต่างประเทศ คณะมนุษยศาสตร์ นำผู้บริหาร คณาจารย์ เจ้าหน้าที่ ภาควิชาภาษาต่างประเทศ คณะมนุษยศาสตร์ เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมดังกล่าว เพื่อสนับสนุนและเพื่อสร้างความร่วมมืออันดีในการพัฒนามหาวิทยาลัยสืบไป

📍Department of Foreign Languages, MCU Participates in the Memorial Merit-Making Ceremony Honoring Former Teachers and Luang Ta Phra Mongkolratanavides

🗓️ On 14 June 2026, Wat Mongkolratanaram in Tampa, Florida, USA, held a memorial merit-making ceremony dedicated to the former teachers and spiritual predecessors of Wat Suthat Thepwararam and Wat Mongkolratanaram, as well as in remembrance of Luang Ta Phra Mongkolratanavides, the former abbot of Wat Mongkolratanaram, who played a significant role in establishing and promoting Buddhism in the United States.

📝The ceremony was conducted in an atmosphere of gratitude and reverence, with the participation of senior monks, members of the Thai Sangha, and Buddhist devotees who gathered to pay tribute to those whose contributions have greatly benefited Buddhism and the Thai community abroad. On this occasion, Most Ven. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phra Thepvajarasarabundit, Vice-Rector for Planning and Development of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, and Dr. Phramaha Somchai Kittipanyo, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Humanities, participated in the ceremony to express their gratitude and to honor the legacy of those who devoted their lives to the propagation of Buddhism.

🗓️เมื่อวันที่ 14 มิถุนายน พ.ศ. 2569 ณ วัดมงคลรัตนาราม เมืองแทมปา รัฐฟลอริดา สหรัฐอเมริกา ได้มีการประกอบพิธีบำเพ็ญกุศลอุทิศถวายแด่บูรพาจารย์แห่งวัดสุทัศนเทพวรารามราชวรมหาวิหาร บูรพาจารย์ของวัดมงคลรัตนาราม ตลอดจนถวายเป็นกตัญญูกตเวทีแด่ หลวงตาพระมงคลรัตนวิเทศ อดีตเจ้าอาวาสวัดมงคลรัตนาราม ผู้มีบทบาทสำคัญในการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาและวางรากฐานความเจริญมั่นคงของวัดในสหรัฐอเมริกา

🗓️ On 13–14 June 2026, Wat Mongkolratanaram in Tampa, Florida, USA, celebrated its 45th anniversary in conjunction with the 48th Annual General Meeting of the Council of Thai Bhikkhus in the USA. The event was presided over by Most Venerable Prof. Dr. Phra Brahmapundit, Member of the Supreme Sangha Council of Thailand, and attended by senior monks, representatives of Thai temples, and Buddhist organizations throughout the United States.

📝On this occasion, Most Ven. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phra Thepvajarasarabundit, Vice-Rector for Planning and Development of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, and
Dr. Phramaha Somchai Kittipanyo, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Humanities, participated in the event to commemorate the 45th anniversary of Wat Mongkolratanaram and to strengthen cooperation and friendship among Thai Buddhist communities abroad.

The meeting was presided over by Most Venerable Prof. Dr. Phra Brahmapundit, Member of the Supreme Sangha Council of Thailand, and attended by senior monks and representatives of Thai Buddhist temples and organizations throughout the United States.

📝On this occasion, Most Ven. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phra Thepvajarasarabundit, Vice-Rector for Planning and Development of MCU, and Dr. Phramaha Somchai Kittipanyo, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Humanities, participated in the meeting to exchange perspectives and strengthen international cooperation in Buddhist propagation and education.

📍MCU Executives and Faculty Participate in the 4th Buddhist Lay Dhammadūta Training Program for the Americas 2026

🗓️ On Friday, 12 June 2026, the 4th Buddhist Lay Dhammadūta Training Program for the Americas 2026 was organized through the collaboration of the Council of Thai Bhikkhus in the USA, the Dhammaduta College of Mahachulalongkornrajavidya- laya University (MCU), and Wat Mongkolratanaram, USA. The program was held at Wat Mongkolratanaram, Tampa, Florida, United States of America, during 11–12 June 2026.

📝The training program aimed to promote Buddhist missionary work, strengthen Buddhist networks in the Americas, and enhance the knowledge and capabilities of Buddhist lay Dhammadūtas in disseminating Buddhist teachings internationally. On this occasion, executives, faculty members, and staff of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University participated in the program. Most Ven. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phra Thepvajarasarabundit, Vice-Rector for Planning and Development of MCU, also attended the event.

📝In this regard, Dr. Phramaha Somchai Kittipanyo, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Humanities, served as a guest lecturer and English master of ceremonies during the program, contributing to international communication and the promotion of Buddhist education on the global stage.

🗓️เมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ 12 มิถุนายน พ.ศ. 2569 ได้มีการจัดโครงการ อบรมพระธรรมทูตคฤหัสถ์ รุ่นที่ 4 ภาคพื้นอเมริกา ประจำปี 2569 โดยความร่วมมือระหว่างคณะสงฆ์ไทยในสหรัฐอเมริกา วิทยาลัยพระธรรมทูต มหาวิทยาลัยมหาจุฬาลงกรณราชวิทยาลัย และวัดมงคลรัตนาราม สหรัฐอเมริกา ณ วัดมงคลรัตนาราม เมืองแทมปา รัฐฟลอริดา ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ระหว่างวันที่ 11–12 มิถุนายน 2569

📝โครงการดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นเพื่อส่งเสริมงานพระธรรมทูต การเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนา และพัฒนาศักยภาพพระธรรมทูตคฤหัสถ์ในการสื่อสารและเผยแผ่หลักธรรมในระดับนานาชาติ

🗓️ On 5 June 2026, the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Humanities, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, organized its 4th departmental meeting of 2026 via Zoom Meeting. The meeting brought together administrators, faculty members, and staff to discuss and monitor departmental operations in accordance with the University's policies and strategic objectives.

📝The meeting focused on reviewing ongoing activities, exchanging information, and planning future academic and administrative initiatives to enhance the quality of teaching, learning, and educational services within the department.
On this occasion, Dr. Phramaha Somchai Kittipanyo, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, chaired the meeting, with administrators, lecturers, and staff members participating actively in the online session.

📍Dr. Phramaha Somchai Kittipanyo Receives the “Distinguished Dhammaduta Award” 2026

🗓️ 4 June 2026, the Overseas Dhammaduta Training Program, Dhammaduta College, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya Univer-sity, organized an award presentation ceremony to honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Buddhist missionary work. The event was held in celebration of the 32nd Anniversary of the Overseas Dhammaduta Training Program and the 13th Anniversary of Dhammaduta College at the MCU 48th Anniversary Building, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

📝On this occasion, Dr. Phramaha Somchai Kittipanyo, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Humanities, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, was selected to receive the “Distinguished Dhammaduta Award” together with a certificate of recognition for his significant contributions to the promotion and dissemination of Buddhism both nationally and internationally.

🗓️ On 2 June 2026, Mahachulalong- kornrajavidyalaya University organized a chanting and royal blessing ceremony in honor of Her Majesty the Queen on the auspicious occasion of her 4th Cycle Birthday Anniversary at the Somdet Phra Phutthachan (Aj Asabhamahathera) Building, MCU, Wang Noi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

📍Department of Foreign Languages Supports the 21st United Nations Day of Vesak Celebration

🗓️ On 29 May 2026, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU), in collaboration with the International Council for the Day of Vesak (ICDV) and international Buddhist organizations, organized the 21st United Nations Day of Vesak Celebration at the United Nations Conference Centre, Bangkok, Thailand. The event was held under the theme “Buddhist Wisdom in Promoting Global Sustainable Development and Building a Shared Future for Humanity.” The conference aimed to highlight the role of Buddhism in promoting peace, sustainable development, and international cooperation. It brought together Buddhist leaders, scholars, and representatives from various countries to exchange ideas and discuss the application of Buddhist wisdom to contemporary global challenges.

📝On this occasion, Dr. Phramaha Somchai Kittipanyo, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Methaphan Phothitheerarot, Vice-Dean for Administrative, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veerakarn Kanokkamalade, Director of the Master of Arts Program in English (English Program); and Dr. Lalita Pimrat, Secretary of the M.A., Ph.D. Program in English (English Program), Faculty of Humanities, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, was assigned to serve as commentators, interpreters, and media relations personnel during the 21st United Nations Day of Vesak Celebration at the United Nations Conference Centre, Bangkok. Their contributions supported international communication, facilitated participation by delegates from various countries, and promoted Buddhist teachings as well as the international image of the University on the global stage.

🗓️เมื่อวันที่ 29 พฤษภาคม พ.ศ. 2569 มหาวิทยาลัยมหาจุฬาลงกรณราชวิทยาลัย ร่วมกับคณะกรรมการสภาสากลวันวิสาขบูชาโลก (ICDV) และเครือข่ายองค์กรพุทธนานาชาติ จัดงาน วันวิสาขบูชา วันสำคัญสากลของโลก ครั้งที่ 21 ณ ศูนย์ประชุมสหประชาชาติ (UN Conference Centre) ถนนราชดำเนินนอก กรุงเทพมหานคร ภายใต้หัวข้อ “พุทธปัญญาในการส่งเสริมการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนในระดับโลก และการสร้างอนาคตร่วมกันของมวลมนุษยชาติ” (Buddhist Wisdom in Promoting Global Sustainable Development and Building a Shared Future for Humanity) การจัดงานครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อส่งเสริมบทบาทของพระพุทธศาสนาในการสร้างสันติภาพการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน และการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือระหว่างชาวพุทธจากนานาประเทศ โดยมีพระสงฆ์ นักวิชาการ และผู้แทนองค์กรพุทธจากทั่วโลกเข้าร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้และประสบการณ์ทางวิชาการ

📝ในการนี้ พระมหาสมชาย กิตฺติปญฺโญ, ดร. หัวหน้าภาควิชาภาษาต่างประเทศ พร้อมด้วย ผศ.ดร.เมธาพันธ์ โพธิธีรโรจน์ รองคณบดีฝ่ายบริหาร, รศ.ดร.วีระกาญจน์ กนกกมเลศ ผู้อำนวยการหลักสูตรศิลปศาสตรมหาบัณฑิต สาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ (English Program) และ ดร.ลลิตา พิมพ์รัตน์ เลขานุการหลักสูตรบัณฑิตศึกษา สาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ (English Program) ภาควิชาภาษาต่างประเทศ คณะมนุษยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหาจุฬาลงกรณราชวิทยาลัย ได้รับมอบหมายให้ปฏิบัติหน้าที่ด้านการบรรยายกิจกรรม การแปลภาษาต่างประเทศ และการประชาสัมพันธ์ผ่านสื่อมวลชน ในงานวันวิสาขบูชา วันสำคัญสากลของโลก ครั้งที่ 21 ณ ศูนย์ประชุมสหประชาชาติ กรุงเทพมหานคร เพื่อสนับสนุนการสื่อสารระหว่างประเทศ อำนวยความสะดวกแก่ผู้แทนจากนานาประเทศ ตลอดจนส่งเสริมการเผยแผ่หลักธรรมทางพระพุทธศาสนาและภาพลักษณ์ของมหาวิทยาลัยในเวทีนานาชาติ
