In Primary Years, students learned Chinese through real-life role-play conversations and a mini marketplace activity, where they practiced buying and selling using common sentence patterns in everyday communication.

Along the way, we also explored Chinese currency and discovered cultural aspects of shopping and trade in China. Making language learning both meaningful and fun! ❤️🛍️🇨🇳

⚽🌟 End of Unit Action: House Football 🌟⚽

As part of our unit, Services in the Community, students took part in a House Football event that brought our learning to life. Through teamwork, respect, communication, and sportsmanship, students experienced how individuals contribute to a community and work together towards a common goal.

This meaningful action encouraged students to build positive relationships, support one another, and celebrate the values that help communities thrive. Well done to all participants for demonstrating enthusiasm, resilience, and fair play throughout the event! 💙💛❤️

Kindergarten Assembly: Food Manners 🍽️

During our Food Manners Assembly, children learned about healthy eating habits, thoughtful food choices, and respectful mealtime behaviour. Our primary students also joined the session, creating a meaningful opportunity for younger and older learners to learn together and share ideas as a community.

The assembly encouraged children to reflect on their food choices and develop a deeper understanding of healthy habits and positive mealtime practices. Through a sticker vote for their favourite dish, children were also given the opportunity to express their preferences and make their voices heard.

At HEI, we believe every child's voice matters. By creating opportunities for children to share their opinions and make choices, we nurture confidence, responsibility, and a strong sense of belonging within our learning community. ✨

Our G3–4 students enthusiastically participated in Business Day, a hands-on learning experience designed to simulate the process of running a real business. From generating ideas and planning products or services to setting prices, preparing materials, and managing sales, students took ownership of every stage of their business journey. 💡🛍️📈

The businesses created by our students reflected their creativity and diverse interests, including a Photo Booth, a relaxation massage service, a music station where customers could explore musical instruments, a tennis game booth, bracelet and keychain shops, banana cake sales, and many other student-led ventures.

Through this authentic learning experience, students developed a wide range of essential skills, including planning and organization, mathematical thinking, communication and customer service, problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration. They also gained practical experience in managing resources, making financial decisions, and understanding the value of entrepreneurship.

Aligned with the IB approach to learning, Business Day encouraged students to become Inquirers, Thinkers, Communicators, and Risk-takers as they explored ideas, made decisions, adapted to challenges, and engaged with others in meaningful ways.

This engaging experience provided students with a deeper understanding of business, economic exchange, and teamwork, while fostering confidence, responsibility, and a lifelong love of learning.

Fun-Filled Learning Adventures 🌿✨

Our K2 children had a wonderful field trip to Flying Lizard, where they explored, created, and learned through meaningful hands-on experiences. 🍕

The children had the opportunity to learn about the pizza-making process, choose their own healthy ingredients, and express their creativity while developing fine motor skills, decision-making, and imagination.

Beyond the kitchen, the children also enjoyed outdoor exploration and playful learning in the rain, building confidence, gross motor skills, social interaction, and teamwork through active play and exciting challenges on the playground equipment. 🌧️✨

Learning beyond the classroom allows children to discover the world through real experiences while creating joyful memories together.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Flying Lizard for warmly welcoming our children and providing such a fun, safe, and engaging environment for learning and exploration. Your kindness, support, and thoughtful experiences made this trip truly special and memorable for our little learners. 💚
