People knew me. They liked me. They just didn’t know all of me.

For years I kept my worlds apart. The yoga teacher here. The musician there. The one who sits with people in the tender stuff, somewhere else again.

I called it being professional. Honestly it was simpler. Fewer things to explain.

And it worked for a long time. It was also quietly exhausting in a way I couldn’t name until I stopped doing it.

Nothing dramatic changed it. I just started letting the pieces share a room. Singing in a space where I usually only taught. Saying the softer thing to people who only knew the capable version of me.

Small, awkward, and so much freer...

If I can do it, so can you.

Which part of yourself do you keep in its own room? I’d love to hear.

There is more inside you that wants to be expressed.

What’s needed is a safe space to practice. To be seen, to be heard, to be received, and to belong.

That’s why I made the HeartSongs Circle. One live circle a month on Zoom, the songbook with 160+ of my favorite songs, and a WhatsApp community where you can share your practice, your voice notes and your inspirations.

$33 a month. The songbook on its own is $33, so your first month is really just the book.

Come and sing with us.

Comment SONGBIRD and I’ll send you the link, or it’s in my bio.

Where do you sing at the moment? Car, shower, kitchen, nowhere at all. I’d love to know

I’m in a season of letting go of other people’s playbooks.

For years I’ve been quietly collecting them. How to launch. How to speak to your ideal client. How to pick one thing and go all in. All good advice, most of it written by people who aren’t me.

Here’s what’s actually true. I help people find their voice. Sometimes that’s one person in a session, which is Rising Resonance, six weeks of private somatic work to heal and empower the voice. Sometimes it’s a brand or a business that knows exactly what it is and can’t yet say it out loud, and that’s Flow Frequency, voice and visibility.

I’ve been watching one of my clients pour herself into Substack and start to really find her people there, and honestly it lit something in me. So I’m experimenting with the medium myself.

And I’ve started recording an album.

Humbly, patiently, and looking for patrons who want to be part of the making of it. You can listen, and you can support it, and both are in my bio.

Here’s the honest part. My brain has what I lovingly call 17-project syndrome. I know the advice is to focus on one thing, I’ve read it in every playbook. But at this stage of my life that doesn’t feel like me, and I’m choosing to trust that the thread running through all of it is the same one: helping people say the thing they came here to say, and finally doing it out loud myself.

I’m curious. What would you just go for, if you weren’t editing yourself or comparing? 🎶

I’ve been holding this song back because it doesn’t feel ready.

Then I sat down in a circle of sisters and sang it out loud for the first time, and they started catching the harmonies, laughing and crying and shaping it with me, and it came alive in a way it never has alone in my room.

A song becomes real when other people sing it with you. More alive, more juicy, more itself.

This is the thing I teach, that you find your voice by using it, and there I was waiting to feel ready when the singing is what makes you ready. A good taste of my own medicine 🌸

My heart is so full. I don’t have words yet for what happens when women sing together, so I’m just going to keep singing.

If my music has ever touched you, the link in my bio Francie La Flow | Somatic Voice & Expression✨ is where you can listen and support, as I slowly begin to birth this dream album into the world.

Something magic happens when women sing together.

Every week I get to hold a sound healing at The Yoga Barn, Bali , and lately I’ve been collaborating with different sisters. We drop into a deep flow, we give each other wings to fly higher, and my whole heart cracks open.

I’m opening to my heart, leaning into love.
I’m opening to love, leaning into trust.
I’m opening to trust, leaning into feel.
I’m opening to feel, breathing into heal.

This beautiful original is by the wonderful Gabrielle Euphoria 🌊 Every word is hers, and it’s an honour to sing it. She has recordings coming out later this year, so go follow her now and be there when they land

My invitation: press play, learn the words, and sing along. Find your own harmony in it. When we let our voices meet, we become a channel for love.

Drop a 🌊 if you’re singing along, and tell us which line landed most for you today 💛

Every one of us was born musical

My heart just about explodes when I get to share music and space with my little besties 🌸

The purity of their hearts, the way they’re drawn to the music, it lights up my whole soul. They don’t hold anything back. They just move, straight from the heart, and you can feel it soften the entire field.

Once upon a time I was actually a school teacher, and that love for kids never left me. Lately I keep getting invited to share my magic with the little ones more and more, and honestly, what a gift.

It reminds me there’s an inner child alive in each one of us. And every single one of us is musical. That’s our birthright. We came in singing, moving, expressing, before anyone ever taught us to quiet down.

So this one is for the little girl inside me too, the one who learned to be small. She gets to sing now. And so does yours.

If you feel that little one in you wanting to be heard, comment or DM me the word VOICE and I’ll send you something to help her come through 🌸

With love and song,
Francie

One of my favourite things about being a teacher is getting to be a student again. Humbling, in the best way.

As a kid I begged my parents for piano lessons, and it never quite happened. Years of musical theatre, yes, but I grew up longing to play an instrument. That longing followed me, even as I stepped into calling myself a musician and training other facilitators. The two chord wonder imposter feeling. Maybe you know it too.

So it brings me such deep joy to return to the ABCs of music and just being perfectly imperfect again, with a teacher full of patience and compassion. Thank you Mel Dobra for these weeks of togetherness, harmony and inspiring each other deeper.

Your expression grows in the practice. It’s safe to be a beginner.

If your next level of expression is waiting for you, comment VOICE and I’ll send you something beautiful to support you. 🎶

Chanting might be the missing link between a good yoga class and an unforgettable one.

And I can’t tell you how many beautiful, gifted teachers skip it.

On the surface, the reasons sound practical. “My students would find it too spiritual.” “It’s just not my style.” But when we sit with it a little longer, something softer usually emerges... self-consciousness. A quiet belief that their voice is the one part of them that isn’t ready to lead.

So the Om gets whispered. Or left out altogether.

Sweet teacher, here’s what I want you to know: your students aren’t waiting for a perfect Om. They’re waiting for a real one. When you sound with your whole voice, wobble and all, you give every person in that room permission to do the same.

That’s the actual teaching. That’s what they’ll remember long after the sequence fades.

Your voice carries the same medicine as your hands, your presence, your holding. It always has.

Comment VOICE and I’ll send you something special to help you bring your full voice into the room. 🕊️
