Hello Year 1!

For this weeks homework, I would like for you to help your child create a musical instrument. For example of a drum, you could use a sauce pan and chopsticks. There is an example of how to create a guitar on page 87 in the English Book. The children will be presenting their musical instrument on Friday.

Also, new uniforms are now available for purchase in the admissions office. Each child has their own package, which consists of three new polos. The package costs 1,200 baht.

For this weeks homework assignment, the children will pick a dinosaur they want to learn more in-depth about. I would like for you to help your child research about the dinosaur. Please help your child make a poster or craft and include the facts they find. Some facts would include:

1. height
2. weight
3. their habitat (Land/sea/fly)
4. meat or plant eater
5. characteristics (deadliest, fastest, etc.)

Presentations will be on Friday.

Here are a few activities they participated in last week. The scavenger hunt was their favourite activity. The children had to make a bar graph and mark all the dinosaurs they found around the school.

Last term we learned about different types of forces, specifically push and pull. Today we learned more in-depth about pull. The children played Tug of War. Tug of War is a contest in which two teams pull at opposite ends of a rope until one drags the other over a central line. They had a blast playing the game. Here are some pictures.
