Nursery had a fantastic morning exploring soft play at Fun House Samui. It was Nursery’s first trip and what an adventure we had. We started off with an exciting bus ride where we pointed out everything we could see along the way, followed by lots of play and exploration. 🛝

FS1 class had a fantastic morning of free play at Samui's soft play park, Fun House, yesterday.
It was wonderful to see the excitement on every childs face as they entered the play area 😄.

Thank you to all of the staff at Fun House for providing such an enjoyable experience for young children on the island!

FS2 Yellow were amazed to find out that Foundation had had some Dinosaur visitors! We spent the morning looking for clues after we found some exciting Dino footprints in our classroom. We hunted around school and found 5 dinosaurs! We are very excited to do some writing about our experience tomorrow! 🦖

FS2 Yellow have had the best day visiting Samui Airport! Thank you so much to Bangkok Airways for accommodating us and showing us around. We especially loved watching the big planes take off and land on the long runway. We even shouted "Welcome to Samui" to the passengers arriving on the island. Well done FS2 Yellow! ✈

This half term the FS1 class topic based learning theme is "Under the Sea'.
Over the last two weeks the children have been busy helping to paint an ocean backdrop, for our new ocean themed learning centre.
The children have so far enjoyed exploring the new learning enhancements such as the small world ocean tray and dramatic play 'submarine'. We have been practicing our counting skills with sea shells and enjoying tales of 'Rainbow fish' and 'Clumsy Crab's' in our literacy sessions.

FS2 Yellow are thoroughly enjoying our STEM+ week so far. Today we had a go at programming and coding using the KIBO robots 🤖

As part of our theme this term, ‘around the world’. Nursery have been exploring crafts that relate to the different countries.
We have been making our own passports and through our activities we have been developing our language and communication, colour and shape recognition as well as exploring and experimenting with texture.

As FS1 class continues to learn about minibeasts, their growth and changes over time, this week we took a closer look at life cycle of a butterfly 🦋 and the importance of bees🐝.

Understanding that butterflies and bees collect pollen and nectar from flowers, we decided to plant flower seeds to attract more of them to our FS garden.

FS2 Yellow have had a SUPER fun week learning all about the story Supertato! We've produced some excellent writing, using our phonics to create wanted posters for the Evil Pea, speech bubbles for the trapped potatoes, and even some character descriptions. We've explored frozen peas in the messy area, and today we made our own Supertatos! Well done FS2 Yellow 😁

Yesterday morning, FS1 class took little walk up to the school farm.

The children were all excited to get close to nature and were tasked with searching and collecting snails for our class snail enclosure.

FS1 class kicked off the new half term exploring our classroom 'Minibeast Investigation Area'.
The children had a fascinating week learning about minibeast habitats and loved helping to make our own wormery and snail enclosure. The class were all excited to make observations of different bugs first hand and to continue learning how to take care of living things.

FS2 Yellow utilised the Panyadee garden this morning, to help with our maths lesson of measuring using non standard units. We chose plants of different sizes, and used the blocks to measure how tall they were. There was lots of counting, number talk and discussions around the tallest/shortest plants. Well done FS2 Yellow 🥳
