A friend and colleague is running a fantastic set of summer camps! 🌞 Each morning is spent at the beautiful Mud House — an incredible play-based learning environment that’s warm, welcoming, and perfect for little ones to explore and create. But that’s not all… every afternoon they head out on adventures connected to the week’s theme — swimming, rock climbing, exploring nature. Honestly, I’m a little jealous… I want to be a kid again just to join! 🏞️🧗‍♀️🌊

🌿ELEMENT EXPLORERS CAMP
July 7–25 | Ages 5–8 | Hang D**g - Chiang Mai

Limited to just 15 children per week — this is a unique chance for your child to grow wild, get muddy, and learn through nature with a team of experienced educators and certified Forest School leaders.

Our 3-week outdoor drop-off camp is inspired by the elements of nature — Earth, Air, and Water — with Fire featured every day through campfire cooking, stories, and circle-time reflections 🔥

🌱 Week 1 – Earth (July 7–11)
We’ll dig, plant, build, and explore the ground beneath our feet.
Children will create with clay, sculpt mud, make natural dyes, and build shelters using logs, leaves, and teamwork. We’ll notice roots, insects, and the hidden world that lives in the soil.

🌬️ Week 2 – Air (July 14–18)
This week is all about movement, sound, and the sky above!
Expect flying crafts, wind chimes, air-powered experiments, and chasing bubbles through the forest. We’ll listen closely to birdsong and create music with what we find outdoors.

💦 Week 3 – Water (July 21–25)
Prepare to get wet! We’ll follow streams, splash in puddles, and build mini dams and boats. Children will learn how water shapes our world and have plenty of time to explore, play, and create in our splash zones.

🔥 Fire every day:
Every day, we’ll gather around the fire for shared meals and storytelling — learning fire safety, helping to prep food, and enjoying the magic of a warm flame with friends.

Hi, I'm Kevin! I’ve had this page up for a while now, and I thought it was about time I properly introduced myself. I’m originally from the UK but have been teaching Early Years in Thailand for close to 20 years. My journey began in Chiang Mai, but I spent 16 years in Bangkok developing my teaching career, gaining more experience, and completing a Master of Education. Along the way, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of various Early Years approaches, including the IB, UK curriculum, Montessori, and Reggio Emilia.

During my time in Bangkok, my wife and I found ourselves constantly craving nature. We would get so excited whenever we saw fields or trees and would travel out of the city every weekend in search of greenery. When lockdown happened, it became clear to us that staying in Bangkok wasn’t what we truly wanted anymore—we longed for more time in nature.

I was fortunate enough to land a job at Panyaden International School, which fits perfectly with my philosophy that children should have uninterrupted opportunities to play, explore, and be in nature—whether that’s climbing trees, getting muddy, or just being outdoors.

Recently, I completed a 12-month course to become a qualified Forest School leader, with support from my school. This experience has completely opened my eyes to how powerful and meaningful education can be when it’s based in nature, letting kids be kids. Now, much of my free time is spent running Forest School sessions, raising awareness about this approach here in Chiang Mai, and continuing to build my skills and knowledge on this exciting journey.

🌿After the success of our Summer camps, we are excited to announce a week of Forest School adventures this October!

These shorter camps, running from 9 AM to 1 PM, offer just the right amount of time for kids to experience the outdoors and connect with nature while leaving them refreshed for the rest of the day.

The 5-day camp will be themed around the senses, encouraging children to explore and engage with nature in new ways. Activities will include building shelters, learning bushcraft skills, cooking over a campfire, and sharing stories by the fire. Kids will also enjoy wildlife spotting, nature-inspired arts and crafts, and fun outdoor games. Each day will wrap up with reflections around the campfire after enjoying the food they’ve cooked together.

On the final day, we’ll come together for a special potluck picnic BBQ, a fun and delicious way to celebrate all the adventures of the week.

Join us for an unforgettable week of sensory exploration and outdoor fun! Spaces are limited, so be sure to book your spot today.

🌟🦋 Here's a sneak peek into our morning at The Mud House during Birdwing Butterfly Week, brought to you by Nature & Nurture - Forest Adventures!

Our kids are busy with self-directed and self-chosen play, using a mix of large and small materials. All of these materials are rescued from the waste stream or donated, saved from heading to the landfill. We meticulously check for hazards, clean them up, and add them to our Loose Parts area.

Join the revolution! Say no to too many toys and yes to Loose Parts—the most sustainable way to play. 🌿✨

These photos don't quite capture it, but this Indian Cork tree was lush and green just a few days ago. When we noticed how few leaves were left, we were concerned—until we took a closer look! 👀

The leaves haven’t disappeared due to illness; they've been a feast for a bunch of hungry caterpillars! Now, we're thrilled to see a whole host of butterflies fluttering around. Perfect timing for our Birdwing Butterfly camp from 8th - 12th July! 🐛🦋

Don't miss out—there are only a few spots left in each camp!

17 - 21 June
24 - 28 June
