Meritton British International School

Our students are developing their early literacy skills through Jolly Phonics, a highly structured synthetic phonics programme that helps children understand the sounds represented by letters and letter combinations.

Through regular practice, songs, actions, and multisensory activities, students learn to recognise individual sounds, blend them together to read words, and segment words into sounds for spelling. They are also introduced to common tricky words and phonics patterns to support both reading and writing.

With consistent practice and encouragement, our students are building greater confidence, accuracy, and fluency as they take their first steps towards becoming confident young readers and writers. 📚✨

We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our very first IGCSE cohort.

This year, 16% of all grades were awarded A*, with 31% achieving A*–A. These excellent results reflect the hard work, determination and commitment of our students throughout their IGCSE journey.

We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to our teachers for their dedication and to our parents for their continued encouragement and support. Congratulations to every student on this important milestone—we are incredibly proud of you all.

Through our “All About Me” learning, the children explored body parts and developed their communication skills through play. Activities such as squeezing sponges, pouring water, and hanging clothes helped strengthen their hand muscles, fine motor skills, and coordination.

The children also explored water, bubbles, and wet and dry through play, while learning how to care for baby dolls. They practised being gentle, caring, and independent.

Throughout the activities, we introduced simple words such as “baby,” “wash,” “clean,” “wet,” “dry,” “bubbles,” and “clothes,” helping the children build their communication and language skills.

The school has renovated and improved several areas of the campus to ensure a more comfortable, and suitable environment for all students and staff. We are proud to continue enhancing our school environment to ensure the best experience for our students and staff.

Happy Mother’s Day 🌸

Wishing you a happy and meaningful Mother’s Day this year. While Mother’s Day is a special day to celebrate, love and appreciation for our mothers can be shown every day.

The Chompoo Pantip, also known as the Pink Trumpet Tree, is a beautiful flower that blooms around our school. It is also a symbol of love and good wishes. Its soft pink flowers remind us of the warmth, care, and kindness that make every relationship special.

May this Mother’s Day be filled with smiles, warm hugs, and precious moments with your loved ones.
