On 1 September 2026, Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, in collaboration with Wolters Kluwer, organized a special session entitled "Leading Healthcare in the AI Era: Keeping Evidence and Trust at the Core" at Smart Classroom: Orange Jasmin 611, 6th floor Medical Learning Resource Center and Ramathibodi School of Nursing Building, Ramathibodi Hospital.

The key speakers of this special session include: Distinguished Professor Dr. Gordon Guyatt from McMaster University, Co-founder of GRADE Working Group and Chief Methodoligist at MAGIC Foundation, Dr. Sheila Bond, Director Clinical Content Strategy, Founding leader of UpToDate Expert AI Wolters Kluwer Health, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Chusak Okacharoen from Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital Mahidol University.

Throughout the session, attendees examined the evolving role of evidence-based medicine in the era of artificial intelligence. Key topics included preparing the next generation of clinicians through evidence-based education, developing trustworthy AI applications for clinical care, and applying GRADE framework to assess evidence and inform decision-making related to AI. The session also provided opportunities for discussion with healthcare experts and peers.

On 8 August 2026, Ms. Paballo Adelina Khotso, an alumnus from M.Sc. in Medical Epidemiology (International Program), received certificate for Active and significant participation in Graduate Student Activities in the Academic Year 2025 from Faculty of Graduate Studies.

During the last academic year, she was appointed as a committee of international relationships of the Graduate Student Union.

On 7 August 2026, Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, hosted a welcome & orientation ceremony for academic year 2026 students at Sukho Place (Basement Floor).
The ceremony commenced with a welcome speech and department 's overview, presented by Prof. Dr. Ammarin Thakkinstian (Head of Department), then followed by presentations about each program's graduation requirements, instructed by Assoc. Prof. Kunlawat Thadanipon and Asst. Prof. Dr. Anuchate Pattanateepapon (Program directors). Having presented about programs' graduation requirements, the department also held a session about "Academic Dishonesty and Plagiarism Policy & AI Use Policy", instructed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Anuchate Pattanateepapon, to ensure students are aware of the policies of using AI for their assignments and academic dishonesty.

Lastly, this welcome & orientation ceremony concluded with an introduction to using Google Workspace, instructed by Dr. Wanchana Ponthongmak, was held to ensure students are familiar with the required programs and platforms they will use throughout their studies, including student engagement standards and service facilities instructed by Mr. Nattakrit Tongpoonsakdi. The department also invited alumni of each program to share their professional milestones and experiences throughout their studies at the department.

On 3 August 2026, Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, was invited to hold special talks during Ramathibodi International Academic Conference (RIAC) 2026 at Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Room 816, Ramathibodi School of Nursing Building, in the afternoon.

The special talks include the presentations as follows:
1. Emulate Trial Using Real-world Data: From Design to Analysis of Dementia study, instructed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thunyarat Anothaisintawee,
2. SNOMED: Practical Point-of-view, instructed by Dr. Nat Tangchitnob,
3. Standard and Component Network Meta-analysis, instructed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sasivimol Rattanasiri and Prof. Dr. Ammarin Thakkinstian,
4. SRAI Study Selection, instructed by Dr. Cholatid Ratanatharathorn, and
5. SRAI Data Extraction, instructed by Dr. Thurain Htun

Throughout the session, the special talks were moderated by Dr. Thirawat Chatphiphatkun, who facilitated the discussions and promoted active engagement between speakers and participants. As a key academic component of RIAC 2026, the session served as a platform for researchers, clinicians, and postgraduate students to exchange knowledge and obtain practical insights into contemporary research methodologies, real-world data applications, clinical terminologies, evidence synthesis, and artificial intelligence–assisted systematic reviews. The conference further underscored the department’s commitment to advancing high-quality clinical research and strengthening research capacity through interdisciplinary collaboration and continuous professional development at both national and international levels.
