Are we deliberately disregarding the wisdom of our ancestors, who have passed down their knowledge and experiences through generations, and instead relying on modern sources that may not have the same depth and richness?

Let us take a step back and opt instead to visit the Eswatini National Archives and Records Service, where we can uncover the hidden treasures of our past, and read extensively to expand our knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of our heritage. By doing so, we can reconnect with our roots and appreciate the sacrifices and achievements of those who came before us.

Libraries are evolving beyond shelves and books to become dynamic hubs of digital innovation. As Artificial Intelligence continues to transform how information is created, accessed, and shared, librarians and information professionals must be equipped to harness these technologies responsibly.

The Eswatini Library and Information Association (ESWALA), in collaboration with the UNESWA AI Academy, successfully convened a workshop aimed at equipping members with practical knowledge and skills on the application of Artificial Intelligence in libraries and information services.

The workshop explored how modern technologies are reshaping the information landscape, highlighting opportunities for libraries to enhance service delivery, improve access to information, and support users in an increasingly digital world. Participants also engaged in discussions on the importance of trusted resources, information verification, and responsible AI use in professional practice.
