Right to Reply: Mother Touch reassures parents, public of ethical operations, welcomes inspections.

Mother Touch Preschool wishes to take this opportunity to exercise the fundamental journalism principle and ethic of “Right To Reply” to recent allegations raised by unattributed sources in recent The Swazi Voice News publication regarding employee welfare and workplace conditions.

As a fully registered, regulated and reputable Preschool committed to high standards and ethical practices, we take these allegations very seriously. We are also greatly perturbed by the allegations leveled against Make Ever Chisiri without those accusing providing details of when these alleged incidents took place. We wish to get further details of this so we may resolve all issues amicably and issue apologies and remedies for each incident if need be. In the absence of such evidence, the allegations amount to character assassination and defamation.

However we are not in the business of seeking to prove others wrong or right but our main mandate is investing in the future of the education in Eswatini, job creation and economic growth through taxes we diligently pay.

We are dedicated to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all our employees. Testament to this is the longevity and low turn over of our teaching personnel.

We categorically deny all claims of intimidation or threats against any staff members. It has never been our policy or practice to discourage open communication or to prevent employees from voicing legitimate concerns. We strongly believe in transparency and actively encourage staff members to raise concerns directly with management or through appropriate official channels, including labor authorities.

To allay fears from parents and stakeholders we have since held a parents and teachers meeting where we discussed the operations of the school. We have also set up an independent committee comprised of parents to look into any grievances we may have not been aware of and address them amicably and to the satisfaction of all parties.

Mother Touch Preschool operates with a clear vision: to build an institution that not only respects but actively adheres to all labor laws, compliance standards, and ethical employment practices. Our commitment to employee welfare extends to remuneration, and we proudly affirm that our salary structure exceeds the government-gazetted salaries in Eswatini for Preschool teachers.

Regarding working conditions, we have also initiated an internal review to verify and reinforce our adherence to labor standards. Furthermore, we openly invite independent labor authorities to inspect our operations, review our compliance, and engage directly with our employees to thoroughly address any legitimate concerns raised.

In alignment with our forward-looking vision, Mother Touch Preschool is preparing students for the future job market, anticipated to be dramatically shaped by artificial intelligence and technological advancements. Within the next 10 years, we foresee a job market increasingly reliant on a blend of technical skills such as artificial intelligence, data science, robotics, cybersecurity, and coding, alongside essential soft skills including critical thinking, emotional intelligence, creativity, and adaptability.

To proactively equip our students, our primary school has already begun offering coding lessons, recognizing that proficiency in coding will soon become as foundational to future generations as typing has been to the current one. Additionally, we are excited to announce that Mother Touch School will soon establish a Robotics Centre designed not only for our own students but also accessible to the wider student community. This initiative aligns with our commitment to preparing young learners for the "free intelligence" era, as highlighted by Bill Gates, where artificial intelligence and human ingenuity together shape a promising future.
