About the Debate
Lihawu National Debate Competition (LNDC) facilitated by Pholex Ltd: shall bring together forty (40) schools from the four regions of the country to debate on economic, social and environmental issues to enhance achieve the countries’ vision of attaining world status by 2022. The official language during the event shall be English and activities shall include debate workshops, cou

ch workshops and competition; we believe such an event shall transform lives of Swazi students academically, and beyond the school walls. Students shall compete on an AUSTRALIAN DEBATE, where each school will be represented by three (3) speakers at three (3) minutes per speaker (9 minutes per school). All schools shall be awarded with training in preparation for the debate by judges from the Swaziland Debate Sport Association in collaboration with students from the University of Swaziland. On the day of the workshop (4 April 2014) at the University of Swaziland; schools are to register and be drawn into the ten (10) Leagues. The debate aims at completing crucial national programs which build towards the country’s vision of attaining world status by 2012: Such projects/programs include, but not limited to;

1. EDUCATION FOR ALL (EFA) OBJECTIVES: As the debate will allow participation of ALL students at High School Level;
2. SPECIAL EDUCATION POLICY STATEMENT OF 1999: As such a debate will accommodate the disabled (deaf and dump) to compete equally with other students.

“If I Die Now the - Motivational Mixtape is a collection of lessons that were learnt the hard way by trial and error, in my personal life”, says Trevor. It is a compilation of motivational messages that Trevor delivered overtime. In his talks he speaks about day to day challenges that people encounter is this journey called life. He talks about the Mandela’s of this world, how they came from prisons to becoming presidents after spending twenty-seven years in life imprisonment. “The gist of this motivational mixtape is that we all face situations that look permanent, in our relationships, health, finances and in our careers. It’s easy to think that this is the way it will always be. It may look permanent to us, but the good news it’s not permanent to GOD. GOD doesn’t allow you to get into anything that He can’t bring you out of. It may seem like a bunch of negative things got dumped on you and this easily discourages you”, says Trevor.

Debate involvement has been shown to be a way to improve in academic records for students. It also improve the student's social skills as they learn to be able to engage with new people socially. They also gain the ability to solve problems. They turn to use communication far more to solve problems, and not violence.
