Parents Education 2 on 7th May 2026 (Parent Workshop)
Lesson on Self-contril for Life
The workshop then introduced the famous Marshmallow Experiment conducted by psychologist Walter Mischel at Stanford University.
In the experiment, young children were each given one marshmallow and told:
> โYou can eat it now, or if you wait for a short time without eating it, you will receive two marshmallows.โ
Some children immediately ate the marshmallow, while others struggled but patiently waited for the bigger reward.
Researchers followed these children for many years. The results showed that the children who were able to wait and control themselves generally :
* Performed better academically
* Had stronger social relationships
* Managed stress better
* Were more responsible and confident
* Had healthier lifestyles and decision-making skills later in life
Some follow-up studies showed that children with stronger self-control tended to have higher educational achievement and better life outcomes as adults .
The workshop emphasized that self-control is more important than simply having talent or intelligence . A child who can control emotions, delay pleasure, and persevere through challenges can grow into a strong leader with wisdom and responsibility.
Parents were encouraged to:
* Spend meaningful time talking with their children
* Teach responsibility at home
* Set loving but firm boundaries
* Encourage patience and perseverance
* Praise effort and character, not only results
* Become role models of self-control themselves
The workshop concluded by reminding parents that education begins in the home. When parents raise children with wisdom, discipline, love, and strong hearts, they help prepare them not only for school success, but also for life.

The Power of Jewish Education๐ก
Jewish people make up only about 0.2% of the worldโs population, they have received around 20% of the worldโs Nobel Prizes. This surprising fact has caused many educators around the world to study the secret behind Jewish education.
The workshop explained that one of the key strengths of Jewish education is not only focusing on intelligence or academic success, but also teaching children how to control their minds, endure difficulties, think deeply, and develop responsibility from a young age.
One important principle introduced was:
โHide Half of Your Loveโ
This does not mean parents should not love their children. Rather, it teaches that true love is not giving children everything they want immediately. Wise parents sometimes withhold comfort, pleasure, or rewards in order to help children grow stronger internally.
For example:
* Not buying everything a child cries for
* Teaching children to finish responsibilities before playing
* Allowing children to experience small difficulties instead of solving every problem for them
* Teaching patience, gratitude, and endurance
When children always receive immediate pleasure, they may struggle later with disappointment, discipline, relationships, and responsibility. However, when children learn self-control early, they become emotionally stronger and more successful in life.

๐ตMaking Beautiful Music Together๐ต
๐ชThe lower-grade students continued from the previous lesson by learning the finger positioning for producing the โMiโ note on the recorder and practicing how to create a clear and accurate sound. They also reviewed what they had learned through a simple quiz, combining both theory and practice.
Now, beyond just producing sound, they are gradually developing more stable and clearer tones through proper finger placement and breath control. As they listen to one another and practice playing together, their focus and confidence are growing as well.
๐ปStarting today, the upper-grade students began exploring music with a variety of instruments.
The Grade 3โ4 students had their first experience playing the recorder and learning basic scales. Although it was challenging at first, it was impressive to see them gradually improving and matching their sounds.
๐นThe Grade 6โ7 students chose between the violin and the piano and began learning basic playing skills suited to their individual levels. Their sense of responsibility and enthusiasm for their chosen instruments truly stood out.
Please continue to encourage and support our students as they grow step by step๐
