Next Generation Taekwondo Statement/Stance concerning Corona Virus epidemic

Dear parents, supporters,fans,media and friends,in light of the plight we are faced with regarding the Corona Virus threat and how quickly and easily it can pass on from one person to another,we are left with no choice but to suspend training atleast for a week starting today(Monday 16/03/20). We have also taken the decision based on reports that one reported case is of a parent of a school where some of our athletes are schooling. To minimize any possible risks everyone will be staying home under close supervision of parents.

We have taken the decision that training will remain suspended until we are sure there is no threat that may result from meeting for training.
This comes as a very severe hit to our program for the year as we were supposed to intensify preparations for our first championship of the year.we were also looking at gettiñg our senior athletes ready to contend for national team callups for the september African Cadets and Junior taekwondo championships.
We do hope the situation will normalize soonest and that we can resume normal operations soon.
INTERNATIONAL GAMES
We have since withdrawn our oarticipation in international events that we were due to compete in.These include tournaments in South Africa,Botswana and Mozambique. We pray this calamity comes to pass and allow us to resume our Program.

In the interim we do urge all our students to exercise at home and we request parents to support them and buy them jumpropes for instance to ensure there is cintinued physical activity for them. Remember, a fit body is a healthy body there exercising must never stop if we are to resist infections. Everyine is urged to follow the right preventative measures to ensure safety always.

We appreciate your continued support and assure you we will be back in action soonest to win some silverware.

2020 is a year of doubles. We are kicking of the year with some massive expansion work: Investing heavily in grassroots development.

The Next Generation Taekwondo Academy was again out on its schools outreach/partnership program on Thursday 06-02-2020. We visited Sidney William's Primary School during their morning assembly for a short Taekwondo talk and demonstration. We spoke about the importance of discipline,self defence,the values of sport especially Taekwondo and sport taekwondo. We shared how we keep students motivated in their academics too. The kids were very excited and keen to know more,they asked questions on how they can become members of the academy and be great Taekwondo practitioners.
The teachers loved the talk and the Sports Teacher Mr Lwazi Mamba,a true sports person in his own self, expressed his appreciation of the visit..
We did a demonstration showing the students basic moves for self defense and also engaged on some advanced choreographed patterns of stances,blocks and kicks. We closed the session with giving the students a chance to kick targets and show us some natural talent much to a great applause and appreciation from the students.

We will soon be starting off Taekwondo sessions at the school making Sidney Williams the newest addition to the Next Generation Taekwondo Academy stable.

I hope you have all having a lovely sunday.

May i kindly thank each and everyone of you who allowed the kids to attend the recently end Back To School Taekwondo Program. I believe all the kids have regained their fitness and are ready to resume school this coming tuesday.

Please note this yesterday(saturday) was our official end to the back to school program. As of tomorrow we resume our normal program and schedule.

We will train on
*Monday & Thursday 3-4:30pm*
*Saturday 12-2:30pm*
as per our normal schedule.

*19 September Junior Belt grading*

*17 June World Junior Championships' Sofia Bulgaria*

*12 December Black Belt Grading*

More events are yet to be added to the calendar as the executive continues receiving proposals and approving same..

National team duties for our kids will mainly be Senegal and Sofia Bulgaria for those who will qualify for National Team spots

We will have invitational tournaments to Botswana,Lesotho, South Africa and Mozambique. Updates will be shared as we get closer to each event.

As of next week: 20 JANUARY, the Next Generation Taekwondo Academy shuttle service will begin transporting academy kids to and from training. This will be at reasonable fees and kids will enjoy good Taekwondo vibes with our excellent team of coaches and a comfortable ride home after training.
