The rolling out of preparedness workshop in Qamishli hub - Education sub-sector working group held workshop in Qamishli on 22 and 23 March in order to strengthen the capacity of education sub-sector to deliver coordinated education response including formulation of emergency preparedness and response plan. Officials from Directorate of Education of Al Hasakeh and Ar-Raqqa as well as education focal points from the UN agencies and NGOs actively participated in the workshop.

The rolling out preparedness workshop of education sector in Homs hub, the participants comprises NGOs, UN, Red Cross and MoE. Thanks to all the participants and the facilitators for their efforts together to prioritize the education activities according to the need in Homs hub and to develop the corresponding contingency plan.

The first education coordination meeting in 2017 was held with high spirits :) this morning Monday, 16 Jan. in Damascus. Big thanks for partners' active participation.

MoE updated partners on education response including of Aleppo.

It was a high attendance of 38 participants from 27 organizations.

As of November 2016, 3.45 million children,youth and education personnel including 61,905 Palestinian refugees and 437,140 in besieged and hard-to-reach areas have been provided with relevant quality education by 41 organizations in 14 governorates.

As of October 2016, 3.45 million children and youth including 61,905 Palestinian refugees and 411,932 in besieged and hard-to-reach areas have been provided with relevant quality education by 39 organizations in 14 governorates between January and October 2016.

We are glad to share with you the third edition of education bulletin produced by Damascus based Education Sector.
This edition reports on the programme’s successes including Back to Learning Campaign 2016-2017. It also covers successes in resource mobilization, advocacy and cumulative achievement of the sector. There are three case studies of children accessing different education options against the backdrop of war.

Education cannot wait particularly in Syria. To date this year, 1.26 million children and youth including 61,905 Palestinian refugees and 356,819 in besieged and hard-to-reach areas have been provided with relevant quality education by 36 organizations in 13 governorates between January and September 2016.

Thanks to DoE of Homs to co-chair sub-national education coordination meeting held yesterday, 16 Aug in Homs attended by officials of DoE from Ar-Raqqa,Idleb and Hama to share and exchange information and to identify gaps ahead of new academic year commencing on 18 September 2016 in Syria. Special thanks also to active participants from SARC, NGOs and UN agencies.
