After a wonderful conference in Cabañas, our Teachers Up journey continues!

We’re excited to open participant registration and the Call for Presenters for our next stop: San Vicente.

This conference will bring our community together around the theme “Navigating the Future of ELT with Smart Tools and AI”, a space to share ideas, learn from one another, and explore practical ways technology and AI can support English language teaching.

Some people talk about building community. Dennis Ramos builds it: one classroom visit, one phone call, one door at a time.

As Teachers Up Ambassador in Cabañas, Dennis ran between institutions inviting universities, connecting businesses, coordinating with the Alcaldía, and managing every single detail with the Teachers Up core team. All while teaching his own classes.

And that community showed up. Student volunteers from UNICAES Ilobasco and Universidad Luterana Salvadoreña Cabañas gave their Saturday to welcome, guide, and support every teacher who joined us. Our two MCs, one from each university and both majoring in English, also led the program with confidence, warmth, and professionalism. Seeing future English teachers take such an active role made the day even more meaningful.

The Cabañas Regional Conference happened because of many people, but it happened HERE because of Dennis.

Thank you for believing this community deserved it. It did.

The Cabañas Regional Conference was made possible by an extraordinary community of sponsors and supporters who gave generously so our teachers could learn, connect, and celebrate.

A huge thank you to the Alcaldía de Sensuntepeque for opening the doors of the Teatro Cabañas and providing personnel who gave up their Saturday to make us feel at home.

Five presenters. One theater. A whole audience turned into students.

Maricela (UNICAES), Jossue (Universidad Luterana), Glenda & Raúl (IT Language Academy), Jaime (UNICAES), Luis (English Studio Plus), and
Yeniffer didn’t just present, they taught live, on stage.

And our participants felt every word: “I loved that they engaged with the audience.” “They made me feel motivated.” “We participated actively.” “I will apply every activity; my students are going to love
them.”

To every speaker who gave their Saturday freely, thank you. You changed classrooms that haven’t happened yet.

What happens when universities in a region join forces?

At the Cabañas Regional Conference, Universidad Catolica de Oriente, Illobasco (UNICAES) and Universidad Luterana Salvadoreña, Cabañas didn’t just invite students, they brought their 4th and 5th year English cohorts, contributed speakers, and became one community for a morning.

Faculty exchanged ideas. Students met professionals. Classrooms crossed institutional walls. This is what interconnectivity looks like when universities unite around a common mission: the growth of English teachers.

The certificates awarded at the conference also reflects the quality of speakers graduated from several universities in El Salvador: UNICAES, UES, Tecnonógica, UDB, U Luterana.

Dance, Paint and Sing came to life in Sensuntepeque!

From music as a metacognitive tool, to adjectives through rock, comics for speaking and writing, storytelling detectives, and the power of meaningful choices, every mini lesson turned the Teatro Cabañas into a real classroom.

Participants said it best: “The energy of the presenters made me feel motivated.” “I couldn’t choose just one thing, everything was really good!”

Tomorrow, we come together once again as a community of teachers who believe that learning never stops.

We are looking forward to spending the morning sharing ideas, learning from one another, and exploring how art, music, and culture can help bring English to life in our classrooms.
