Loyola Secondary School – Wau conducted its Annual Safeguarding Monitoring and Evaluation Session with Fr. Silas Kipkorir Kemboi, SJ, Safeguarding Assistant for the Jesuit Eastern Africa Province.
As part of the session, Fr. Silas also had the opportunity to meet and engage with students stream by stream, providing space for students to share their experiences, concerns, and perspectives on safeguarding within the school community.
The session provided an opportunity to review the implementation of safeguarding policies and practices, reflect on progress and challenges, identify areas for improvement, and strengthen our collective commitment to creating a safe, respectful, inclusive, and child-friendly environment for all students.
We sincerely appreciate Fr. Silas Kipkorir Kemboi, SJ, for his guidance, engagement, and continued support in strengthening safeguarding at Loyola Secondary School – Wau.

Awareness Session at Loyola Secondary School
Loyola Secondary School was honored to host a sensitization session organized by United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare, as part of the commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict.
The program was chaired by the Director General from the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare and the Head of Team from UNMISS. The session focused on safeguarding, emphasizing the importance of protecting children and vulnerable individuals from abuse, exploitation, neglect, and all forms of harm.
Students and staff were encouraged to uphold respect, dignity, accountability, and responsibility in creating a safe learning environment where everyone feels valued and protected.
Loyola Secondary School remains committed to strengthening its safeguarding culture and ensuring the well-being of every learner.
