La Salle and Loreto Participate in Joint Quiz Competition

La Salle Boys' Secondary School, Rumbek and Loreto Girls' Secondary School, Rumbek on Friday afternoon 14th August 2026, participated in a joint quiz competition.

Group 1 won the quiz competition by 60 points. This was followed by Group 4 which obtained 44 points. Group 3 took the third position with 43 points while Group 2 was the last with 38 points.

Participants were given exercise books and pens.

The aim of the quiz competition is basically to promote academic performance as it is usually conducted before the end of term examinations. Quiz also brings students together to promote social cohesion.

Senior Two Students Attend Fourth and Fifth Leadership Training

Senior two students on Wednesday 12th August 2026, completed their leadership training focusing on Christian Leadership Principles.

They were able to make presentations on Christian leadership, community leadership and family leadership.

S2 Students Receive Third Leadership Training

Senior two students on Monday afternoon 10 August 2026, received their third leadership training focusing on Christian Leadership - a service which goes hand in hand with humility. Humility refers to the recognition of one's uniqueness and other people's uniqueness in the society.

Mark 10:42–45 teaches us that the greatest leader is a servant.
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” — Mark 10:43
Jesus makes the principle very clear: true greatness in leadership comes through serving others. He gives Himself as the ultimate example.

Matthew 20:26–28 — Leadership through serving, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” — Matthew 20:26 says, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” — Matthew 20:28
This is one of the strongest passages for the idea that leadership is service for the good of all.

A good leader considers the welfare and interests of others, not merely personal advantage. 1 Peter 5:2–3 — Lead by example.
Leadership should not mean dominating or exploiting people. Leaders should guide others through their own example.

Galatians 5:13 — Serve one another
“Through love serve one another.” — Galatians 5:13. This verse beautifully summarizes servant leadership: authority and responsibility should be exercised through love and service.

Proverbs 11:14 — The importance of wise leadership, “Where there is no guidance, people fall, but in an abundance of counsellors there is safety.” — Proverbs 11:14
A leader should listen to others and seek wise counsel rather than making decisions based solely on personal authority.

Proverbs 29:2 — Good leadership benefits the people, “When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice.” — Proverbs 29:2.

Good leadership brings joy, peace and progress to the people, showing that leadership should ultimately serve the community.

Know Who You Are

Sunday Mass 9th August 2026

"Know who you are," is the message of God today. In the gospel of today Jesus walked on water where the disciples said, "Truly you are the son of God."

He encouraged his disciples not to be afraid as cited in Matthew 14:25: “And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.”

Matthew 14:27: “But straightway Jesus spoke unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.”

Matthew 14:29: “And he said, come. And when Peter came down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.”

Matthew 14:31: “And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”

We should not forget God like Simon Peter who was about to sink in the water but Jesus said you of little faith. Therefore, we should know who we are. We should not doubt the presence of God through His son Jesus Christ.

Senior three and four students this afternoon Thursday 6th August 2026, received the second leadership training focusing on the Lasallian Leadership Principles.

Senior three and four students this afternoon Wednesday 5th August 2026, received their second leadership training. They were individually assigned to choose any leader and explain the uniqueness of that leader from others.

S3, S4 Participate in Leadership Training

S3 and S4 students participated in leadership training on Monday 3rd August 2026.

The trainer emphasized the importance of empowering young people in leadership saying that we should never underestimate good things young people can do in this world.

The trainer emphasized that good leaders should create an enabling environment for sports and reading at school level.

La Salle Prefects Attend Leadership Training

Prefects made presentations on qualities of bad leaders as poor listeners to the ideas of subordinates, lack of care for the needs of the subordinates and having poor decision-making.

The training emphasised that leadership is all about right decision-making which should improve the lives of the community.
