Good Shepherd Academy (GSA) in Sherikat, Juba, joyfully hosted an Awarding Ceremony, celebrating the top three students from every class, from Nursery to High School, in recognition of academic excellence and hard work in Term 1 2026.
The Christian-centered event featured worship, prayer, homily and encouragement, attended by the parents, students, teachers, the Founder and Director of the Academy, the Rev. John Chol Daau, alongside a visiting bishop, the Rt. Rev. John Jal Deng of the Diocese of Bentiu, who prayed for the learners and encouraged both top performers and those striving to improve next term.
GSA remains committed to raising Christian servant leaders through Christ-centered education anchored on excellence in academic, faith, character, values and Scripture.
The celebration, which was an act of Christian worship, concluded with a blessing from Bishop John. Thereafter, the parents, teachers and students shared a meal together in unity and fellowship. 🌟📚🏆

What a blessed and joyful end-of-term prayer service we had today! It was inspiring to witness the Word of God alive and active in our children. Students confidently led most parts of the service, including Scripture readings, prayers, and worship. Juuk, a Grade 4 student, beautifully recited Philippians 4:13, reminding us that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” The school choir also uplifted the congregation with wonderful singing. We were greatly encouraged by the strong attendance and support from parents, especially mothers. We give all glory and praise to God for His faithfulness and guidance throughout the term.

Specific Prayer Request for Students' Writing Exams
We request your prayers as we commit our students into the loving hands of our Lord Jesus Christ while they write their End of Term One 2026 examinations from May 6–19, 2026. Our examination days are especially long, as our High School section sits for many subjects during this period. Please pray that the Lord may grant our students calm minds, confidence, wisdom, and understanding. We pray that the Lord help them clearly recall all they have studied throughout the term so that they may perform to the best of their abilities. We also pray that the Lord removes fear, anxiety, confusion, and discouragement from their hearts, and instead fills them with peace, courage, and strength during every examination session. Kindly remember all students, teachers, and staff members in prayer during this demanding season. As it is currently malaria season, we pray for God’s protection over our health and safety, and that the healing Jesus may shield us from sickness and every form of harm.May the Lord guide each one of us and make these examinations a season of growth, confidence, success, and testimony. Many blessings in Christ,Fr. John

We are grateful and blessed to welcome The Rt. Rev. Edward Tombe, bishop of the Diocese of Rejaf who is visiting our school for the first time this afternoon after his service and preaching at St. Andrew’s Church in Gumbo Sherikat. You are all welcome to worship with us ( parent, students and teachers). Our children school choir will lead. This visit is a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with the bishop and his team, as we are part of his community and have meaningful interactions with his clergy through training and activities supporting educational services. It’s truly a special occasion to host a bishop. Thank you all for your cooperation.
Many blessings
Fr. John
