On September 1, 2025, we witnessed a moment of joy and hard work paying off: the successful Maize Harvest at our Juba Demonstration Farm!

A big thank you goes to our casual workers, Welfare staff, security personnel, interns, champions, and technical advisors whose dedication, resilience, and tireless efforts made this harvest possible. You have shown that with teamwork and commitment, we can overcome challenges and achieve remarkable results.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to Mr. Ed, whose unlimited support to the people of South Sudan goes on to motivate and sustain us. Your belief in our mission makes dreams turn into reality.

Together, we are proving that “It Can Be Done.”

We are excited to share that Empower Farmers South Sudan was featured LIVE on SSBC’s "The Dawn Show" (Arabic Program) today!

Our Champions, Ms. Awel and Ms. Magret, represented us with passion and spoke powerfully about the Empower Farmers South Sudan Program, reaching audiences across the country for a full 30 minutes.

SSBC has also invited us back during the upcoming harvest on September 1, where they will host the Executive Director on the English Program of the same show. This is a wonderful opportunity to continue spreading the message of sustainable farming, empowerment, and hope for South Sudan.

Together, let’s build a brighter future for our farmers and communities!

We are grateful for this wonderful collaboration and continued support from the SolarSPELL team.

The SolarSPELL agriculture library has truly been a game-changer for our work at Empower Farmers South Sudan (EFSS), a flagship program of EmpowerKids-South Sudan. It has not only strengthened our demonstration farm but also empowered our interns and trainers with practical, research-based knowledge they can access anytime.

From tackling pest challenges like fall armyworms to improved farming techniques, our team’s skills have grown alongside our crops. The recent train-the-trainer session was another step forward, equipping us to share these tools more effectively with farmers in our communities.

Thank you, Arizona State University, School for the Future of Innovation in Society at ASU, and Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, for walking this journey with us toward sustainable agriculture and food security in South Sudan. Together, we’re cultivating change! .

EMPOWERING FARMERS IN BILNYANG (Empower Farmers South Sudan Program): Our dedicated National Champions (Trainers and Farm Managers), together with our passionate Interns, are actively on the ground in the Bilnyang area of Juba, training 32 smallholder farmers on the Foundations for Farming approach.

This hands-on training is part of our commitment to building food security, restoring dignity in agriculture, and equipping communities with sustainable farming skills.

Together, we're planting seeds of hope and harvesting a better future for South Sudan!
